Wheels,

As I determine (try my best) to get my hundred pounder jumbo next year, my first trip to Namibia will be a thirty one hunting days safari in April. I will bring two guns: an Anderson Wheeler .470 NE double rifle and Mauser M03 .416 Remington. I can use .416 for Eland and some plain games if we bump into a good one. My second trip will also be a thirty one hunting days in July. Then a third trip if requires.

Stan absolutely beautiful .500 bolt rifle . fantastic wood and serious engraving.i think a worthwhile wait . i was wondering what the rifle in your avatar photo was, now how about some similar photos of it for the double fetishists on here...;)

Stan you will have to get the engraving changed after you get the big Ele. I was not expecting a Lion!

or just get another rifle made.

Art work in action. Very nice.

Good luck this year with your hunt(s)

OK so I am bitter with jealousy. What a magnificent rifle! Good to see Teutonic style engraving that will hold its own with any in the world. Had a Ruger #1 tricked out in Ferlach many years ago, and it remains one of my most beautiful and treasured things. Also, good to see a mount that will hold up under serious recoil. What was the final weight?

Thank you gents.

Spike.t,

The double is still with Anderson Wheeler in London, waiting for import/export permits. I will post some photos once I get the gun.

Brickburn,

Outschar is making me a double in 470/500 with same scrolling but with elephant on the bottom. Anderson wheeler is making me a double in 450/500 with elephants concept engraving.

Red Leg,

It is 10.6 lb (4.8 kg). Way too heavy for my liking. I will send it back to losses some weight.

Stan

Beautiful works of art! Some may not but I love the fiber optic sights.

Stan,

Thanks for sharing the photos. The 500 Jeffery is absolutely beautiful. It should be hung on the wall as a work of art......Monet, Cezanne, Outschar, Gauguin..........

The first couple of pictures of the Anderson Wheeler are beautiful as well. When you receive it please post photos as well.

You are the most dedicated 100 lb. hunter I know. A true Don Quixote. Best wishes on your quest next year. Whether you are successful or not please post a hunt report for each trip. Your 2012 report is a true classic of an elephant hunt. All the best.

Beautiful gun !

Fantastic rifle, a pure jewel..
I used to have one, not that nice but I had lots of feeding trouble.... I used 570 gr Zumbo bullets, one of the best ''medecine'' for big game I ever had !!!! although my new Rigby in 450 caliber shooting 550 gr bullet is also quite OK...

Have a nice time with your great rifle
Christophe
