Pre-1909 rifle calibres I'd take: 470 NE 9.3x62 7x57mm - and for me that's saying a lot because I love my 30/06 Spr. Of course a 12g, matched to my 470 NE double, would be "de rigueur".

Yes I've heard that too about the 375HH. However, Kevin Robertson in his book "Africa's most dangerous" states that his Brno 9.3x62 "client" rifle has taken over 600 cape buffalo. And just like when using the 375HH, placement of that first round is critical, and always have your PH backing you...

Im sure of that. But IMO when the expert political analysis starts, it's gone from a hunting forum for hunters, to just another form of the media - with a the inherent bias!
