I'll add that Wayne is a hardworking and ethical PH based on my 14-day plains game hunt this past summer. He works hard to make sure you get what you're looking for - not just the game, but the whole experience. Recommended.

It's my understanding that the .45-70 isn't even legal in most places for thick-skinned dangerous game, lacking sufficient muzzle energy. It's a great cartridge but it's no more uniquely suited to shooting elephants than the 7x57, .303 Brit., or 6.5 Mannlicher, and unlike those three, it...

Ah, but the .303 Brit was developed in the 19th century! Otherwise, it's absence from the list would be a crime indeed-just like the .30-30, 7x57, and .45-70. While I see little pint in getting worked up over this topic, the .30-06 is something of an Everyman's cartridge - rifles and ammunition...

I guess I've always thought of trophies as souvenirs of the hunt. For me, a trophy is itself about the memories and the experience. Isn't tat why we take them home?
