Hello Christophe , I was trying to get in contact with Patrick Martin In Benin , I sent him a email , but no answer , just tried one in French , took me a while to translate .

I think in Benin would be my chance at a lion hunt I could afford , going by his web site , I was looking at the next couple of years .

I was looking at self guided in a couple of countrys , as I guide on Buffalo & Banteng myself in Australia , but I think the best areas have guides on them ?

      Thank you .

      Regards Mark

My brother and I would like to hunt plains game this year. He is an archery hunter and I prefer to use a rifle. Is it practical to use the same outfitter. We are flexible on dates.

      Eric,
sorry for the delay replying. Benin is a small french speaking country. There is 5 hunting areas for big game all situated in the north of the country. You have to drive from Cotonou to the hunting area, quite long, 10/12h... For me it's the only bad point. When you get in the bush,it's wild and quiet. The camp is confortable and the food is good. You can hunt 10 or 12 or 15 days. The main animal to hunt there is the savana buffalo (2 on your quota) and roan. You have 12 animals on your list. But you must hunt, walk and salk many hours a day. It is a very nice place to hunt, not to get a trophy list....
      Cheers

Could you post a article about the hunting in Benin. It's got a lot of great plain game animals, plus buffalo.

      Thanks,

      Eric
