Free Hunt for One Hunter & One Observer from Arc Africa Hunting Safaris for 2015

Hi Bluey, happy to put up a report or two. I love taking young people out hunting and camping, especially those from the cities or towns who don't have access to the bush. Also keen to get fathers and sons into the bush. It is a great bonding experience for them, and one they usually remember...

Thought I would finish my entries with a photo of a our No.1 freshwater fish (Murray Cod) and a couple of ice cold beers. Good luck to all the other contestants, and thanks to Arc Africa Hunting Safari's for putting up a great prize. Enjoy your hunts. Regards Brad

The boys 'plinking' with the 22LR's at one of our bush camps. Notice the Remington 'bucket of bullets' next to the boy in the foreground. Endless amusement when you only pay $85 for 1,400 rounds!

We use motorbikes and two way radios to search and then pursue many feral animals (pigs, goats, foxes, dogs). My son James is my key hunting companion, but we usually hunt with friends given the friendship and camaraderie, as well as the need to have numbers to cover these big areas (this photo...

This wild dog shot by my 14 year old son James. We had just taken out a wild pig when we saw two dogs crossing an open plain. By the time we got close they were entering the tree line, so only one dog taken. Wild dogs have a terrible smell that gets in your skin, and anything the dog touches...

This wild pig taken by my son James with our new 308 and zeiss scope (notice the white lancruiser in the background). This was our first major hunt together, and one we talk about often. It involved staying at 3 large scale grazing properties (known as 'Stations') owned by clients . We shot many...

This wild dog taken at dusk on a 40,000 acre property 11 hours from home. The property owner will skin the dog from nose to tail, take the scalp into the local council (county), and then collect $150 per scalp. Farmers typically wait until they have a few scalps before going to town, which is...

Pigs love wheat stubble (i.e. after harvest) as there is usually grain that fell to the ground during the harvesting process. This wild pig was taken on a 10,000 acre wheat farm 2 hours from home.

A wild dog pup taken on a 220,000 acre property. Looks harmless and cute, but they grow into very smart and aggressive hunters. This region used to be all merino sheep until the wild dogs came. It's now all cattle country, and even that can be challenging when large numbers of wild dogs build up.

This artesian bore has been running non stop for 115 years. The water flows out under it's own pressure at 43 degrees celcius, and then runs along many kilometres of open channels to water sheep and cattle. It is a great way to finish a days hunting, and get ready for the same at night. This...

Took this photo of cattle on a ridge at sunset. I was setting up camp for the night so that I was well placed to shoot wild dogs the next morning. Wild dogs in packs will take calves and weaker adult cattle. The owners of this 40,000 acre property had shot 117 dogs in 12 months. The government...

Shot this boar on a 10,000 acre property 2 hours from home. Most pigs are taken at night when mobs of 20 to 50 pigs hit the wheat crops. Farmers love shooters, so a win/win outcome all round. More photo's to come for this competition.
