thanks for the compliments.
I absolutely loved hunting the baboons. I would love to go back and just hunt them, along with a cull hunt. You really got to stretch out the shots. So i say they are great for honing your long range shooting skills.
my 300 wm with 200gn barnes lrx was devastating on the game you have listed so i would say the 300 with a barnes. as others have said no go on semi auto
I just got back from africa flying the same flights as you are going to. on the way back they asked us if we had any explosives packed, the african that was helping us said no, i gave him a funny look, they took the bags and checked them in. after wards i asked him what was up he said they...
looks to be a lot less grass then. Is that Larry S. with you?
will tell Tom and Linda hi when i see him -- he will be building me another rifle here shortly.
here is the one bullet recovered from the gemsbok i shot at 250 or so yards frontal. the barnes 200lrx performed flawlessly the whole trip. i was pushing thes at 2948 at 1000 feet so at 4000 ft they were in the 2980 range.
retained weight of the bullet was 199.9 grains out of 200 sounds perfect...
thanks guys.
yes i am very proud/ happy with my kudu just what i was hoping for 54 or better. Now I have to figure out how i want to do my mount, thinking of combining the impala, gemsbok and kudu on one pedestal just trying to find examples. i know i have seen them.

Day 9
Chilly again today. After another great breakfast we packed up the land rover and headed out. Today it is very windy 10-20 mph and it caused problem getting the game, the animals were very spooky. We were seeing a lot of springbok and gemsbok but couldn't get close than 4-500 yards and...
