Well... Being in Alaska, the magnum round is pretty much the standard for most hunting. I used a 338 (Ruger No.1) for years but now my usual go to is a No.1 in 9.3x74R and have been successful on the one shot drops from black bears to moose. It's also my Africa rifle in which I had no issues...
