I agree. I haven't had a lot of time and had the Hornady DGX ammo. Dialing in hand loads will come later. We just burnt a couple boxes to get the feel for the rifle. I am so far happy with it with factory ammo. But that being said , I believe those groups can tighten up a bit.

Not a lot of big bore ammo sold around here. Still shooting what came with the rifle. Got 7 box's with the rifle. Only have seen the Hornaday here and at local gun shows. Guess I should check on line.

It is a great gun. No problems feeding and accuracy is great. The recoil is a little harsher (sharper) than the .375 H&H . I really like the shorter action. The biggest downfall is ammo. Only Hornady makes ammo for it at this time. Hard to find locally and runs around $75.00 a box. We've been...

No peep sight. It does have a flip up express sight about half way down the barrels.

Thank-you. I have never been a shotgun fan. After taking time and really going over this gun. The fit and attention to detail is incredible. I may not be a shotgun fan but, I can still appreciate a finely made weapon. She's a keeper.

I found my proof mark chart and all the markings are 1st proof/2nd proof. Nitro and smokeless powder proof. ect.ect. . The 9.7 over72 is really throwing me. The ammo that is with it is 9.3 X 72. But, deffinatly 9.7mm on the barrel.

My wife's father left her a couple of rifles. One was a Remington .22 pump takedown in .22WRF. Anyway the other she said was a shotgun. I don't care for shot guns so I never really looked at it till yesterday. Its a drilling. It appears to be German made , there are no makers logo anywhere...

The thing that got me was , she got it at an estate sale. She has less in the whole deal than the ammo sells for retail. I never get deals like that. I need to go to more estate sales.

Personally I never give up a reason to buy a new rifle. The .458 would be a good addition to any arsenal .
