    Muzzle Brake?

Monish, I have a Browning A Bolt SS Stalker. .375 H&H is my favorite caliber. I have used it for Pronghorn antelope in Wyoming, Elk in Utah, Whitetail deer in NY and PA and Plainsgame in SA. Good to 300 yards and not much meat loss. The range of available bullets really makes it very flexible.

    Muzzle Brake?

I do not have any experience with a muzzle brake. I do though have experience with Magna-porting. Magna-porting is the best of both worlds. Dampens the recoil and doesn't blast the ears of companions anymore than normal. IMHO. I have a Browning A Bolt in .375 H&H mag that is ported. I bought it...

    Remington 798 Express

I bought one last week as a raffle gun at our upcoming SCI chapter dinner. I bought a .458 win mag in brown laminate. Unfortunately they told me they were all out of the deluxe wood. Seems like for the price, how can you go wrong.

How did you get interested in Safari hunting?

Whoops, I quoted "you can borrow money, but you can borrow time" well I didn't proof read very well. Should have been "you can borrow money, but you can't borrow time" Sorry.

I will be there Saturday. Plan on stopping by Owens booth #6333 and introduce myself to Liam. Staying in downtown Harrisburg Friday and Saturday night. Planning on going to Cabela's Sunday, then head home. If anyone else is going to be there, PM me with your Booth or cell number. Always like to...

How did you get interested in Safari hunting?

Like others, my facination started with Curt Gowdy and the "American Sportsman" on TV in the 70s. Wasted a lot of good years, but finally went to RSA in 2009. I have vowed to go back every year. I read a quote somewhere "you can borrow money, but you can borrow time" If you haven't gone to...

    Taking the wife along...

Sorry about that, I was just feeling silly !!! :) I went to Wyoming in 2008 Antelope hunting. When I got home, my wife started crying. She was sure I was going to stay there. Now my wife goes on all my hunts to make sure I come home.:D She is a good travel companion and loves to see the...

    Taking the wife along...

Though my wife is not into hunting, she would not let me go to Africa without her. She came along with us the whole time. Every step and bumpy road of the way. She LOVED every minute of it. The shooting of the game did not bother her either. Of course we made 1 shot kills and did not attempt to...

Mark Sullivan kicked out of SCI

mklap : I have spent many years convincing my wife that hunting is not barbaric and that harvesting of animals is not just to pad the ego. I saw a Mark Sullivan video at Cabela's and bought it. I talked my wife into watching it with me. Let me say that out of disgust, my wife left after 10...

SOUTH AFRICA: Got Back Home Today

Tarina sent me an email, told me you got a nice Waterbuck. Looks like the CZ .375 H&H in the picture. I think I will take the Delta flight next time. Don't want to stop in Dakar again.

    Rifles and Kruger National Park

If you contact Air2000, I believe they have a vault to legaly store your firearms while you are there. Not sure of the details, but I am sure there will be plenty of qualified advice coming your way. This forum is very good for that type of question.

    Scope on .375

"Did I mention I like the 375 H&H cartridge? " Dugaboy1, I think my login of 375lvr should say it all. My point was that there is a perception of people who have never experienced a 375 H&H (which is most NA hunters), that it is a big heavy slow bullet, thus short range gun. I was hunting...
