Wildlife Ranching South Africa's Congress 2013
Developments in the fast moving wildlife industry and challenges facing game farmers will be discussed at Wildlife Ranching South Africa's congress, which will be held at
Castle de Wildt near Nylstroom/Modimolle from 10 to 12 April, 2013
The program for the congress is:
10 April
WRSA Annual General Meeting, Meeting of of Board of Directors, President's Council and Special Group Disvussions, ended by demonstrations and skills building.
11 April
Congress Programme Part 1, presentation by experts, panel discussions, practical presentations and a bush braai.
12 April:
Congress Programme part 2, presentations by experts, panel discussions, practical demonstrations and poster presentations, capped by a gala dinner at which the Game Rancher of the Year 2012 presige awards will be awarded.
During the three days there will also be industry exhibitions of various products and services for the wildlife industry.
Presentations will focus on solutions to the numerous challenges, which the wildlife industry faces:
Support for the game industry from government and other entities
Sustainability of the industry from a global perspective
Immobilisation of game during emergencies (M99)
Land reform
Permits for the transport and translocation of game
Role of technology and research towards the next decade
Rhinoceros protection and the legal trade in rhino horn
Parasite infestation in wildlife and the management thereof
Game farm economics
Sound breeding practices
All game farmers and parties interested in the wildlife industry are welcome to attend the congress.
