    Default Any info on the International Union for Conservation of Nature? Black Rhino extinct?

    Does anyone have any information on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)? They are reporting the Black Rhino extinct. I thought I read recently that there was an increase in the Black Rhino population.

    I would certainly take that with a large dose of salt! Endangered, of course. Extinct? Not likely.

    The article states the western black rhino is extinct not the southern. It also states that the overall numbers of black and white rhino have risen.

    Not sure about their credentials, at least they stated the problem is poaching by criminal gangs. Most of these stories wrongfully blame hunters.
