    Smile Hello from Norway

I'm a local hunter from Norway, which would like to have some info regarding re-loading of 300R SAUM cartridges.
I bought this rifle a week ago a REM 700 , but not been able to find any loading data for this cartridge yet.
Most commen powder used over here is Vhitavouori (140-160)
Bullets any brand. (.308- 150-200 gr)
    Primers Federal-winchester etc
Is there anybody out there, which can give me some info regarding this type of loads, I will be thankfuly.

    Default .300 RSAUM?

ajv: Yes, I have reloading data on the .300 RSAUM. I spent about 2 years trying to perfect a load for my Rem 700 BDL. Here is what worked the best:

    Case: Remington
    Case Trim: 1.999 inches
    Primer: Federal 215
    Powder: IMR 4350 - 64.5gn
    Bullet: Barnes TSX - 165gn
    C.O.A.L.: 2.811 inches

Group: 0.89 inches at 100 yards
Velocity: average is 3050 feet per second, std dev is 9 feet per second

I have a whole spreadsheet of loads that I have tested for this rifle. This is the only one that gave me consistent results. Also, the 700 BDL has a very short magazine, so heavier bullets must be seated quite deep.

ajv: here's some on-line data that I worked from to develop loads for my .300 RSAUM:

    http://www.barnesbullets.com/images/300RSAUMWeb.pdf

Nosler: bullets, ammunition, rifles, brass, and reloading data.

Nosler: bullets, ammunition, rifles, brass, and reloading data.

It might be helpful if you cannot find the components that I used.

    Hi -browningbbr-

    300R SAUM

    Thanks for info.

I was not able to find any IMR 4350 powder in my region , but used N-160, which is very close in burning rate to the mention powder you used.

    Case: Remington
    Case Trim: 51 mm
    Primer: Rem 9 1/2 mag
    Powder:VHIT N-160 - 63 gr
    Bullet: Norma Oryx 180 gr.
    C.O.A.L.: 71 mm
    m/sec: 840

I fired 5 shot at 200 yrds, with a acceptable spreed: 3 with in 23 mm . The other two was grouped 30 mm over only 10 mm apart.
I use a Millett (4-16 x 56 mm) sight, which is very good for this kind of range.

An other intresting load for this caliber (300R SAUM) is:

    Case: Remington
    Case Trimmed 51 mm
    Primer: Rem 9 1/2 mag
    Powder:VHIT N-140 - 55,3 gr (max load: 57,5 gr)
    Bullet: Hornady # 30312 A-Max 155 gr.
    C.O.A.L.: 70,1 mm BC: 11 mm
    m/sec: 910 - Max 950 m/sec

At 100 yards less then 12 mm spreed, 200 yards 35 mm. Bullet drop between 100-200 yrds less then 50 mm.

I will try out diff loads in the near future, and check out the new links you gave me.

    Thanks again,

    Brgds
