NEW TO FORUM!
Hi ya'll,
Been watching the forum for a few days - I'm very impressed with the content and the character of the members! I'm booked for my first trip this coming May. I'll be heading to Namibia for nine amazing days of plains game hunting. Now all I have to figure out is which guns to take and which loads to shoot out of them. This is going to be so much fun!

Welcome muleman!
A caliber that you are comfortable with is priority and then anything else. Any of the following calibers will be fine, 300 win, 270, 30.06, 308, 7mm.
Good luck!

Welcome Muleman!
I would have to agree with Neil if you take any of these calibers you’ll be in good shape.
Happy hunting.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Thanks for the welcome!
I'm hunting with Hannes du Plessis at Bergzicht hunting Lodge. I'm looking for Kudu, Mtn. Zebra,Gemsbok, Springbok, Warthog, Impala, Blesbok, Hartebeest, Wildebeest(Blue) I guess just about everything except Eland but if I run across an exceptional one.... I am preparing for anything! My gun safe has a .308, .300WSM, .325WSM and a .338WM. I'm planning on bringing two guns - I'm just trying to decide which and what loads to feed them. At the moment I'm favoring the WSMs. The.325 with 200gr. Accubonds has proven to be excellent medicine for elk - should work just fine for plains game. The.300 is unblooded and I'd like to remedy that. I just can't decide on the load. 165s for flat shooting or load heavy(200gr.) to punch the critters hard. I'll probably decide based on accuracy - you can't kill what you can't hit. Any opinions by more knowledgeable hunters would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott

I think you are making a good choice. A 325 WSM in 200 Grain Accubond is a very good load and gun! And going to a 300 Win Mag for distance and accuracy, and to get the gun some action would be a awesome plan to me.

...That load - 200gr bullet out of the 325 is more than enough medicine for anything you are hunting! I would take a load in the 3oo with 165 gr bullets. That way you will have better distance- you may need it for Springbuck... You can't always get as close as you would like!!
