Bushpig / Warthog Flush hunt

* Based in the heart of Limpopo agriculture land
* Ideally located with access to 20000 hectares of farmland concession
* Home to great numbers of crop reading Bushpig and Warthog

During the period October to April numerous hectares of maize and sorghum is planted
and irrigated under pivot system, this provides an excellent platform for hound driven
Bushpig and Warthog hunting.
Hunters are strategically positioned surrounding the crop in anticipation of the flushed
pigs.
Several flushes are performed in a days hunting wish typically starts at 5:00am with a
break for a hearty lunch between 11:00am and 3:00pm, where after the hunt resumes
until dusk.

After a great day of hunting the hunters will retreat to a comfortable camp where a
warm meal, cold beer and campfire awaits them.

* No bag limit or size / sex restriction
* A minimum of 4 hunters and a maximum of 10

5 Day all inclusive

Day 1 and 2 Bushpig / Warthog driven with hounds
Day 3 Bird Hunting
Day 4 and 5 Bushpig / Warthog driven with hounds

$3750.00 per person for 5 days
3000.00 Euro per person for 5 days

$250.00 Observers fee per day
200.00 Euro observers fee per day

Plains game can be hunted according to trophy price list

Flush hunt includes
01. Service of a Licensed Professional Hunter
02. Service of a registered pack of hounds
03. The service of trained trackers
04. The service of trained skinners
05. Hunting vehicle
06. Field preparation of trophies
07. Accommodation, meals and soft drinks as well as beer and wine in moderation
08. Daily laundry service
09. Trophy fees for Bushpig, Warthog and Game birds
010. Transfer by road from international airports to camp Polokwane

Flush hunt do not include
01. All air travel before and after the contracted period of the Safari
02. Accommodation and travel charges incurred before and after the contracted period of the Safari
03. Transfer by road from international airports to camp (OR Tambo)
04. Trophy fees for additional animals taken or wounded
05. All air charters
06. Gratuities to Professional hunters and other staff members
07. Preparation, packing, documentation and export of trophies
08. Rifle hire and ammunition
09. Rifle import permits

I have got to keep this one in mind for the future.

I find this less attractive than some others. What are the hogs "reading" in any case ???? We have had a very dry season and the Warthogs are the first to die . Definately not something I will ever offer .........

Irrigated crops, if I read it right.

Interesting concern you raise about the Vlakvark. Conservation is always an issue.
Perhaps this is sustainable in the cropland area.

I will agree on the warthog. I work with two groups of hound hunters and they are not letting them be shot. Before you sign up for this offer you need to figure out how good of shape you are in. 95% of our pigs are taken in close range. This means you need to keep up with the dogs and use a shotgun or 30/30.

Bushpigs have turned into a major problem. We have not been hunting as much as normal due to conditions but are still close to 300 for the year.

BUT THIS IS IN SOME AREAS, MAINLY WHERE NO CROPS ARE PRODUCED.
If you read the post thoroughly you will note that I offer these hunts in AGRICULTURAL AREAS, UNDER PIVOT and not in HUNTING AREAS OR DRYLAND CROP PRODUCTION AREAS where pigs die of the dry season we had.

As Brickburn read IRRIGATED CROPS (if only all of us could read this well)

We go as far as NOT hunting pigs on land where crops are grown under DRYLAND but only in IRRIGATED CROPS.
This makes a huge difference in the population of Warthog as well as Bushpig

I will agree on the warthog. I WORK WITH TWO GROUPS OF HOUND HUNTERS and they are not letting them be shot. Before you sign up for this offer you need to figure out how good of shape you are in. 95% of our pigs are taken in close range. This means you need to keep up with the dogs and use a shotgun or 30/30.

1x Shotgun and 1x Rifle is ideal for this hunt, but again HUNTERS ARE STRATEGICALLY POSITIONED SURROUNDING THE CROP IN ANTICIPATION OF THE FLUSHED PIGS you do not run after the pigs and have to keep up with the Hounds.

The ratio Bushpig to Warthogs taken on these hunts are 9.5 to 1 because the Bushpigs sleeps in the irrigated crop where they have everything they need, such as food, water and bidding, other than Warthog that go to a Warthog burrow to bed down. Any African PH or Outfitter that knows what he is talking about and that works with houndsmen should be able to figure this out.

Firstly I made an observation about warthogs only ! Each to his own you are welcome to do what makes you happy ! One question ? Theses hunters that have to keep up with the dogs are strategically placed on the edges. So they are stationary ..... Secondly if all of us knew how to spell ...... raiding (not reading) and bedding ( not bidding ) it will also help....

"each to his own you are welcome to do what makes you happy"... please tell me this isnt going to turn into a mini white lion spat...bossie stated from the beginning that the hunters would be placed/stationery, it was saeng101 that brought up the running after dogs scenario. as for bringing up spelling mistakes i dont think it was too difficult to work out what was being stated, and this happens when you have people from a variety of countries writing in what is maybe not their first language. bossie also responded to the warthog problem and explained that these were irrigated areas where water is not in short supply. if i could i would do this hunt as i love driven boar shooting, and i think anyone who manages to take this opportunity will really enjoy themselves.

There are several guys in my area that have seen the pictures from my African hunt they shown a lot of interest in the Warthog. Oddly one of the guys said he'd like to kill 4-5 of them. I'll tell them about this offer.

I hope this isn't a White Lion thread.... Everyone hunts/doesn't hunt what they like/don't like, there are a few African species that don't really appeal to me but to others these same species are covented. Like SpikeT said, "each to his own you are welcome to do what makes you happy".... Even if it is a canned Lion hunt or hunting Whitetail over bait, it is (in my mind) all in what you as an individual WANT to do and feel comfortable, and it's not my place or anyone else's place to tell someone they are wrong for hunting the way they do.

And yes, we all od mak spelin mistakes form tim to time.:p:draught:

To be honest the hunt does sound like a lot of fun.

I think this offer looks great and I would jump on it if I had the time and money for it.

I would rather do this than driven Boars in Europe for sure.

If the driven shoot here talked about will be well organized, safe and with many shot chances, I would take that any time before a top driven shoot in Hungary :)

That said, I would not mind a driven shoot in Hungary for a good price either :D

think those days are over .we stopped going to the same place in hungary we shot at for 5 or 6 yearsas the prices went up and up, seems german hunters were willing to pay so that was that. this sa pig shoot is great value with it being all inclusive, as i have said would love to do it if i could. :thumb:
