Welcome Tracker_21! Good to have you here. Lots of good outfitters frequent this site, so that won't be a problem. Anything you need to know can also be found with a little searching. Probably the one thing that you could ask that would generate a mountain of discussions would be "what is the best caliber to take to Africa?" Looking at your "wish list", I'll make the following statement, with the exception being the giraffe and possibly the eland.....Bring whatever you shoot well! For everything but the giraffe and eland, that could be from a .270 win up to a .300 mag. For the giraffe and eland a 30-06 and up should be considered. The main thing is to study shot placement on the game you intend to take (especially the giraffe...not where you would think!) and use premium bullets (the largest for you caliber that shoots well, Swift, Barnes, Partitions, etc..). Before you depart, become comfortable at shooting off of "sticks" and practice, practice, practice. Your PH will love you for being a good shot! Go with the flow, be patient, relax and more importantly...have fun and stay positive. Be sure and let everyone at AH know how things went upon your return. We all live the adventure thru these stories in between going ourselves.

Good luck on your journey, you are making a good first step by checking in here. I suggest that you give some thought to the type of hunt that you want: bush or ranch, tented or chalet, bush, mopane woodland, desert or riverine, isolated or near "civilization" etc, also how much can you afford? Do you need a program of activities for your spouse and children while you hunt? You have gotten off well by defining a list of trophies. A suggestion based upon my experience is a couple of days at Victoria Falls followed by two to three days in the Okavango Delta (sadly photo only - but spectacular) followed by seven days at Clive Eaton's ranch near Ghanzi in Botswana. Botswana is extremely safe, Clive has a first class operation and ranch hunts in Botswana, unlike Elephant hunts there, are competitive in price compared to Namibia and RSA. I have been to the Delta, Clive's ranch and Vic Falls and would have no problem taking my family there. Clive's email is: tholosafaris@gmail.com
I am not a booking agent, I just am passing on info from my past hunts.

You came to the right place for help, I needed help for a trip asap and all these guys were a big help because I knew nothing other than I wanted to go to Africa lol
couple tidbits go to the sites of the outfitters that have posted already and the ones that will pm you, you will find the price list so it helped me to kind go ok I can be gone X numbers days, I have X dollars to spend for the hunt trophy fees and airlines.
You want to hunt which part of Africa and do you want quality or quantity, tent or private chalet, 1 X 1 guide
then look at your taxidermy choices and cost. I made a spread sheet then talked with the ones I was interested in. You will find the more days you can spend hunting the better package you can get over all.
That was the hardest part picking the outfitter lots of great one on here, good luck and happy hunting
ps I let you know how Louis does with Spiral Horns when I get back in May that will be the true test of my suggestions lolBigun
