Dear hunters, you welcome to hunt in Iran with me. I guide hunters, help with organization there, just one week ago I have had 2 hunters from Russia, we hunted for Armenian, Laristan and Isfahan sheeps.

Tom really people have wrong info about Iran, even I who live from 1 h 40 minutes by fly had wrong info, Iran is nice country with normal people. Hunting organization in high level. In Iran 9 mouflons and 3 Ibex, so this country is really interesting for hunters.

It's definitely beautiful country! The only problem for U.S. hunters is getting CITES permits for the animals and the fact the US government doesn't want anyone from US hunting there....another minus of having "government in control".

You are right! BUT, This problem was solved by Iranian organizers, now hunters from US take trophy with them self, like we do it in Azerbaijan, we boiled horns and put salt to skin. So US hunter not wait taxidermy work, they take with them self horns+skin. Actually many hunters from US hunted and hunting in Iran, even before my group there was hunter from US who got Laristan sheep of 53 см. My partner in Iran have special permit for organize hunting for hunters from US.

Thanks! Actually i do hunt in many place of Asia, and i want hunters get good trophies, and go to right people, it is my job it is my mission.

Nice animals, and I am sure it would be quite an adventure hunting there. I do not think I would ever feel comfortable going hunting in Iran with an American passport in my lifetime. Hopefully I am alive to see a time when I do not feel that way.

Guys! I say again – many hunters with American (USA) passport go to Iran hunt and back with trophies to home. Yes we know about problem between USA and Iran, but we have license to organize touristic (!) and hunting trips for people with US passport. I myself guide hunters to Iran so during all trip hunters always with me. But in Iran no any problem or risk, very safe country, people are kind and quiet, very hospitable. So please guys stop talking about problem US passport in Iran, people going shot and back home without problem.

I understand and can respect Your promotion of your services. But please do not ask people to stop talking about the problems between the U.S. and Iran. These are serious issues and Iran has 1 of the most dangerous goverments in the World right now IMHO. as I stated before, I hope this changes in my lifetime.

Some elements in Iran remain hostile to the United States. As a result, U.S. citizens may be subject to harassment or arrest while traveling or residing in Iran. Since 2009, Iranian authorities have prevented the departure of a number of Iranian-American citizens, including journalists and academics, who traveled to Iran for personal or professional reasons, in some cases for several months. Iranian authorities also have unjustly detained or imprisoned U.S. citizens on various charges, including espionage and posing a threat to national security. U.S. citizens of Iranian origin should consider the risk of being targeted by authorities before planning travel to Iran. Iranian authorities deny the U.S. Interests Section in Tehran access to imprisoned dual nationals because Iranian authorities consider them to be solely Iranian citizens; access to U.S. citizens is often denied as well.

The Iranian government continues to repress some minority religious and ethnic groups, including Baha'i, Arabs, Kurds, Azeris, and others. Consequently, some areas within the country where these minorities reside, including the Baluchistan border area near Pakistan and Afghanistan, the Kurdish northwest of the country, and areas near the Iraqi border, remain unsafe. U.S. citizens who travel to Iran should exercise caution.

The U.S. government does not have diplomatic or consular relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran and therefore cannot provide protection or routine consular services to U.S. citizens in Iran. The Swiss government, acting through its Embassy in Tehran, serves as protecting power for U.S. interests in Iran. Neither U.S. passports nor visas to the United States are issued in Tehran. The Iranian government does not recognize dual citizenship and will not allow the Swiss to provide protective services for U.S. citizens who are also Iranian nationals. Iranian authorities have detained and harassed U.S. citizens of Iranian origin. Former Muslims who have converted to other religions, as well as persons who encourage Muslims to convert, are subject to arrest and prosecution.

)))) ok I see what say U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE, but tell me why hunters from USA go to Iran and hunt? because Hunter is always hunter. If person why came for hunting NOT break a law, he never gets a problem, and I think hunter should not break a law of Iran or any country. People who gave as license was Azeri, people was not small people in Ministry of ecology in Tebriz area.
In Iran live 30.000. Azeri. And most of them in government.
International hunting not in politic. Just understand me right, I don’t like way of Iran politic, and most of people in Iran don’t like (I spoke with them) but in fact hunters from Spain, Canada, USA Russia, France and so on go to Iran every year, and no one have had problems. It is not jocks or any gamesit is serious work as organization of international hunting, and hunting company from USA Spain Russia France organize hunting in Iran.

There's not too many places you can go that the State Department doesn't issue those. Just pull up Zimbabwe, Central Africa Republic, Mexico etc.
So long as you have competent guides, your invitation letter and some common sense a hunter shouldn't have any problems.
I've personally found that people are welcoming from all over. It's the governments that are the problems (ours (US) included).

I echo Bluefins comments, if you have a good tourist organization, hunting organization, and outfitting business looking out for your best interest...I definitely wouldn't let if stop you from hunting. Everyone said to stop hunting in Zimbabwe...which would have been absolutely terrible for the hunting industry and the animals themselves....just to mention a few.

There are a lot of great sheep and sheep hunters hunting Iran every year.

BTW, the most passionate hunters I have ever met are sheep hunters...their dedication and commitment to hunting is second to none! I envy their passion .

I do not think you can compare Zim to Iran.

There are a couple of things to remember. First there is no US embassy in Iran. There is one in Harare. There is a huge network in Zimbabwe of US friendly people that we as hunters know. That does not exist in Iran.

I would hate to think that one dollar of my money would go to the Iranian government. It is bad enough Bob Mugabe sees some of my Zim money but to know Iran has been killing US soldiers in Iraq is a little too much for me.

One other thing Zim does not have are Islamist terrorists.

The following happened this week. This is near Iran and done by terrorists.

(AP) ROSTOV-ON-DON, Russia (AP) - Russian police say seven hunters and forest rangers have been shot dead in a wooded area in the volatile Caucasus region.

A police official who declined to be named because the investigation is still at an early stage said Saturday's shooting occurred in the province of Kabardino-Balkaria. Police said all victims had two to four gunshot wounds to the head.

In November 2007, the bodies of nine hunters and forest rangers were found in the same stretch of woodland. Police at the time said they had inadvertently strayed into the territory of militant Islamists who take shelter in the forests of the Caucasus and were killed by them.

Like other Caucasus regions near Chechnya, Kabardino-Balkaria has been plagued with insurgent violence in recent years.

It could be some great hunting and a great adventure but I would do my homework.

I believe John Jackson played a role in opening this area for US hunters. He posts on here from time to time and could maybe shed some light.

Dear Make, actually we put ourself in politic, i know that all our problem reg hunting in Iran or Zim or other place due to politic. But you think Iranian solders kill US solders in Irak? Iran and Irak is not friends. And Irak people kill US solders and US solders kill Irak people.

Mike you right Russia have that problem. Actually Iran is very safe country. You understand me right, i am not from Iran, but i been there and see what country is. 15 dyas i see only possitive tihinks. People are very kind and respect foreign tourist, in same time with my Russian hunters they were hunters from Spain, France. Before us was from US. People knowme in Europe, actually in US people have lack of information about me, but i know where i take hunters, and i guide them from airport-to airport. Please let forget politic, we are hunters and we speak in same language.....language of hunting))))
