Gavin,
Must be a real adrenaline driven hunt!!!
Monish
Hi Gavin,
Are you offering Leopard hunts with dogs to hunting customers?
Or are you offering your services as a dog handler and dog team to other licensed outfitters?
The ad appears of offer 10 day leopard hunts with dogs for $2500 up front plus $2000 additional upon kill.
Is this correct?
It does not read that way to me. It looks to me that the services are being offered to the PH/operator.
Hello all.
I saw this on his webpage :
" - I operate on a commission agreement with these outfits, in order to provide this service at no extra expense to you "
Im sure this answers your question ..
Thank you all for the interest.
Principally the service is offered to the hunting outfitter/Ph.
The legislation provides for residents whom have completed the necessary examinations and registration to legally guide a foreign hunter on a safari in the relevant country. I offer the service of the hounds to these individuals.
However, a superb medium like this forum enables me to make this service known to travelling hunters in the event they would like to pursue a Leopard in this manner.
Monish:
There certainly are scenarios where one can describe this hunt as adrenaline filled, but I think it is more apt to define it as the pure pursuit of a Leopard.
In essence we are track hunters, searching the entire hunting area for a suitable individual, and once found, we follow until either we find our quarry standing in the last tracks made, or he escapes.
It is an interactive hunt where one is occupied with the puzzle continuously, generally only breaking during the hottest hours of the day and during the night.
We go to the Cat, on his terms, in his chosen terrain, as apposed to bringing him to us.
The last part of the hunt when he is 'treed' or 'bayed-up' can prove tricky and is certainly not without danger, but it is only a portion of the entire hunt.
I once attempted an explanation on hunting Leopard with hounds, it is by no means categorical but perhaps of some assistance:
