Default Leopard hunt available South Africa 2010

    Good day to all

I have on offer the following for the 2010 hunting season only:

The cost is: US$ 500 per day for 14 days and a trophy fee of US$ 6 500.

    This offer INCLUDES the following:
    § pick-up and drop-off from Johannesburg
    § accommodation during the hunt
    § all meals and refreshments
§ cost of CITES permit fees
    § all baits
§ transport of trophies to a taxidermist
    § pre-baiting if so required
§ there are no hidden costs

    This offer EXCLUDES the following
§ expenses of a personal nature
    § gratuities
§ trophy fees on other animals hunted
    § taxidermy work
§ flights from and back to your country of origin

    General
We recommend this hunt to be scheduled outside of the FIFA Soccer World Cup as flights will be significantly more expensive. You may hunt other animals (plains game, or dangerous game) at no additional cost. You will only be liable for the trophy fees on the additional animals hunted.

The area for this hunt is approximately one hours drive from the Kruger National Park. Should the trophy be successfully hunted prior to the end of the hunt, day trips to the park and other places of interest can be done at no additional cost. This offer is only valid if the hunter stays on the hunting property.

A second hunter may accompany the leopard hunter at US$ 300 per day. The wife/partner of the hunter may accompany as an observer at US$ 150 per day.

Bait animals will be limited to non-trophy impala and warthog and the hunter may harvest these animals.

    Hi Peter,

Sounds like a great offer. What would be the trophy fee to add Buffalo and what is the name of the hunting area?

    Hi David B

South Africa is notorious for the expensive buffalo we have. We, as outfitters, are mostly charged per inch on the spread. Do you have a specific size buffalo in mind?

The closest geographical town to the leopard concession would be Ohrigstad, and the buffalo property is in the Hoedspruit/Phalaborwa region.

If you have an indication on the buffalo I can start looking for prices.

Are the kudu and buffalo on your avatar hanging from your wall?

    Regards

    Pieter

    Pieter,
I did not realize that was how buffalo were priced in South Africa...guess you learn something new every day. Are they free range or on a fenced reserve? I would be happy with any old mature bull...what is a ball park price per inch? Yes the kudu and buffalo are mine...I took them both on a 1999 Zimbabwe safari in the Chete concession. The kudu was 61 inch and the buffalo 42...I feel very lucky to have taken two such trophies on the same safari.

    Morning David
Even the free range buffalo in Kruger Park are fenced, only the range is much bigger than the average farm/ranch. The concessions for buffalo vary in size. 12 000 acres is one property, and then 8 000 for another. It is big enough not to cross your own tracks on the same day. Some farmers charge an amount for anything below 40" and then a different price when they exceed 40". Other property owners only have a set price. I will start enquiring today.

Would you be interested in hunting other plains game also?

If you are willing to let me know what your budget is I can cut out a lot of places. You can PM me on that.

If I got two trophies like yours on the same trip, I would most likely retire from hunting. Congratulations they are great animals.

    Talk to you soon.

    Default Crocs

Yes Monish we end up paying per foot. I would rather suggest a hunter look at a larger variety of animals than shooting one expensive animal. However, it always depends on the wants and the needs (and the budget) of the hunter.

    Hi Pieter, Good Morning

What you write is correct, rather take some other more species than putting loads of money on one , I believe crocs this year are very high on price everywhere. Shall check them out in 2011 maybe.....

    Thanks
