Hunting Package for Sale!! $4,250.00
I have a hunting package that I will be unable to use this year for sale.
It is a 10 day hunt with Southern Cross Safaris in East Cape South Africa. The hunt is 10 days for two hunters.
Animals covered in the package are 1 Wildebeast trophy, 1 Black wildebeast cull, 1 Springbuck, and 1 Mountain Reedbuck or impala per hunter.
The taxidermy and export fees are covered in this as well. It is a .30 cal rifle only hunt.
All other amenities and guides are covered as well. The hunt can be extended as well.
I won this hunt in an auction as well as one in a silent auction and have a hunt scheduled this year already, as you can tell Im booked. The timeline on this hunt is now until 1 Apr 2014, thats the only thing about it.
I am asking for $4250.00 which is what I won it for. Thanks for reading.
Airfare not included, sorry.Last edited by BRICKBURN; 04-27-2013 at 08:33 PM.

TMFJ, A few questions:
(I added a few spaces to make your post more readable for me.)
What auction was this picked up at?
Is this 2x1?
All day rates for two hunters for ten days are included?
Does each hunter get this list of trophies? or do they share them?
I assume the Outfitter is agreeable to this hunt being transferred?
Is this the outfit?

My Fiance won this hunt (while I was in the bathroom and getting a drink) at the SCI North Fla Chapter banquet.
Yes, all daily rates for both hunters are included.
Both hunters get the list of trophies.
The transfer is ok.
That is also the correct outfit.
One correction I must make and apologize for is that the taxidermy and export fees are not covered. What is covered are the trophy fees, the field prep, and transportation fees. I do apologize for the miswrite.

Any advice you can offer about this offer?
thanks,

Jeff, they make a lot of donations to various hunting organizations, other that I don't know of anyone personally that has hunted with them.
They use to have a steep pick up and drop off cost.

I also don't know much about them. I've looked at the site and that's about it. I'm not sure about the pickup and drop off cost mentioned above. I'm new to Africa hunting.

It would have been mentioned in the fine print of what was not covered in costs. Things change over the years maybe they removed it.
There should be plenty of game to hunt in that area of Africa and it definitely to the outfitters advantage that you shoot more game in the time you are there.

Enysse, I just went over it and the fee to and from the AP is not covered and it's 650. That's all it says though. I mean aside from the fees I listed above.

The paperwork I have on hand doesn't specify PH per hunter. It just says PH services are covered.

Wow, usually SA plains game hunts go for around $500 - $800 on auction this one went for a solid amount more, pretty much its value it would seem... maybe 650 - a 1000 less.
My best always

Yes believe me I know my buddy won one for 550. My fiance bid on this one while I was away from the table, on its opening bid no less, she was trying to help. Either way, it happens.

I think Im probably going to just have to find time to squeeze this hunt in. But at least on the bright side between work and all my hunting trips Ill qualify for a tax free income year. Haha. It stings that hunts are so much cheaper than what I have here but my Fiance just didnt know any better, she does now though. Haha. She cant even go on all the hunts with me this year, try having that argument, of whos going on which hunt haha.

Thanks for answering my question on PH's.
By asking questions I am trying to help you sell it.
The guys (outfitters) are not criticizing.
They are noting that typically the outfitters who donate hunts end up being under priced at auction in the USA. Rarely do the prices fetched get that high. That's it.
They do not get valued, its not about you.
The fact that your fiance paid a decent price and helped out a charity is laudable.
TMFJ, There is nothing wrong with posting the offer to sell a hunt here. It just won't be quick.
There are a few things working against you:
The initial posting price was a small discount on a hunt. Later you added OBO.
(jeffpg was showing interest, quite obviously. He is experienced enough to jump on a last minute hunt)
The hunting season already started.
The best time to hunt is in July Aug Sept this year. So, it is short notice. Most rookies do not do short notice hunts.
Some details have not been clear. It takes some time to clear them up.
I hope someone is interested. Good luck.Practice whispering before you leave for Africa!
