Christophe great video! That was a cool shoot of the gazelle feeding in the trees. Excuse my ignorance but is this there main food source in this area and how they normally feed? With that long neck i guess they are specialized to this type of feeding?

What's the story behind that Buffalo? Even the cows on my folks farm would not behave like that, let alone any Buff that I have hunted..

I thought he was going to feed the buffalo first...
Didn't look like "Dangerous Game" to me...
Not much skill or nerve involved in that shot at all...

Something is odd about it. Not sure if it was already wounded badly or what but that was odd.

I do not think it was wounded or previously shot, to me it looks injured, sigth wise, he was feeding and was not looking in the direction of the hunter, unless he was using only one eye, I am not expert in buffalo, but it looks blinded in some form,,, nice oportunity to get close.

Indeed, strange behaviour for a buffalo.

Christophe, do you have any information on this hunt? was this one of your hunters? To me this looks like a domesticated pet with an ear tag that was shot. I was also surprised there were two still photographers and at least one video operator. Maybe your intent of posting was just to show how quickly a buff will fall when hit correctly.
I would think a free range animal would have more adrenalin going and would not be feeding when approached by many people on foot.

I hope to hunt buffalo one day but if it is always like this I don't want anything to do with it. Luckily I see in the previous replies that it probably isn't...

Just to let everyone know, Christophe is in Central African Republic right now guiding for his hunting season... I believe that he will be back early May at which time I am sure he will chime in.

beekeeper,
Dont judge buff hunting on that video. Until we know the exact circumstances of that hunt we wont know why it allowed the close approach. Normally an unwounded buff will be long gone before the hunter gets this close.

It looks like a forced harvest shot with some discussion and photos before the cull.
probably just documenting a necesary removal with pics taken for recording purposes.
Or maybe a photo safari wanted to watch a cull.
There seems to be a p.h for each photographer in the clip.

Glad others seem to think as I do about this video.! About as exciting and such as watching the local Coke machine sweat during the summer!
