I wish the camera man would have quit moving around so that the footage where the elephant was shot was clearer.

Stunning! I'll never be able to afford an elephant hunt but these "home movies" of regular Joe hunters is really cool! I can see why PH's are some of the most respected and admired hunters in the world.

Quick question about this vid, now if the ph killed the elephant, does the client still have to pay for the trophy kill? and does he still get a chance for another one??

Well done Buzz! Great job and shot. A situation like that changes in seconds and keeping cool is the difference between life and death and elephant is very very intimidating!

Master to answer your question...

When you hunt any other country than South Africa you have a game scout from the government that goes with you everyday and on every stalk and hunt. The reason for the game scout going along is to see that all the regulations is being followed by the hunting party.

If something like this Elephant charge happens the PH has to fill in a report on what happened and why he shot the animal. The game scout then also fills in a report confirming that the PH had to shoot the elephant because it was a danger to the client and people with them on the hunt. This way the client do not have to pay for the animal and the meat goes to the villagers and the animal is seen as problem animal.
