This is the second time I've got to read this report and it was just as enjoyable! A dream safari and for the "Madam" to be there enjoying as much as you takes it beyond a dream.

Glad you liked it both times. It's a little easier to read as a coherent story here vs. the many pages with comments between the installments on AR when I originally wrote it.

What a great read and great set of photography - that shot of the camp at dawn is NatGeo good. Fabulous hunt and a great service you have rendered an obviously fine PH.

Incredible writing. I was supposed to be out breaking a mare this morning but couldnt stop reading (dont tell the wife!) Tou really have a knack for writing. This hunt report is the new standard! LOL

Hell of a safari! Congrats doesnt even begin to describe it. That is something I would dream of - being the first to hunt a new area. maybe not quite as wild as 100 years ago but far far more like it than anyone could ever hope for in this day and age.

Very kind of you to say so Sir. It's fun for me while the memory is fresh and I enjoy reading my own stuff years later.

    Cheers

Maybe you should. Actually maybe you should have her read it with you and perhaps she will become the next Joyce.

My wife hunted on this trip, shooting Impala, Puku, and Reedbuck (a monster) for Leopard bait and camp rations. She never in her life dreamed she would be doing something like that before our first trip in 2010.

She's a hell of a great shot as witnessed in this Dove hunting comedy clip.

Dove breast wrapped in Bacon as grilled appetizers. Four shots, four Doves. She clipped one before I could get the camera on it. She loves her CZ 452.

    Frostbit,
One of the most riveting reports I have ever read. Your unique ability with the written word had me shadowing you and Madam each step of the way. Thanks for sharing.
When I am not hunting, I am thinking about hunting....I think I'll go hunting.

Add a slice of jalapeno between the bacon and dove breast and you're now talking Arizona style....yummy!

Sounds really good. Joyce doesn't like spicy food but I sure do. Maybe we'll try that with some Ptarmigan this winter.

I again say thank you Sir for the kind words on the writing style. I'm a bit disappointed in that when I cut and pasted the text from AR it put some strange characters in the place of apostrophes and quotation marks. I didn't catch the fact it also put a ? at the end of sentences in the place of some quotation marks. I should have done some better due diligence but honestly, it was late at night when I popped the report over onto this site.

I love telling a good tale in person verbally as well as written.

The whole story of Andrew's start up, the community benefitting, me getting my mature Lion, and the game coming back to the area makes me feel good as a hunter/conservationist.

We need to get this message across to our non-hunting friends. The anti's will always be unreasonable and unreachable but Joyce and I have done what we can to educate friends and co-workers that do not hunt about what our hunting dollars did for this area.

It's funny but when she showed pictures of the hunt to co-workers at the hospital they all pretty much stayed silent until they saw a dead Lion. Then it was, "Ah, you killed a lion". After she explained what that dead Lion did for the locals, the other game, and the rest of his breed, some of them started to understand.

We, as hunters, do not take that message to the masses enough!!

    Cheers
    Jim
