Just returned from a fabulous couple of weeks at Eden and the Caprivi in Namibia. As usual, trying to judge the length of kudu was very challenging. The three in the photo all measure within a quarter of an inch of 54". Deep curls or not, wonder how many would have taken the middle animal.

All shapes and sizes.
“It is clear that for wildlife to survive outside (and perhaps even inside) of protected areas in Africa, people must have strong incentives to tolerate, or ideally embrace, wildlife as a land use.” Robin Naidoo WWF

“In a civilized and cultivated country, wild animals only continue to exist at all when preserved by sportsmen.” -Theodore Roosevelt

“........... there is more hunting in Kenya today than at any time since independence. (Thousands) of animals are being killed annually with no control. Snaring, poisoning, and shooting are common things. ..... Think of a policy to regulate it, so that we can make it sustainable Dr. Richard Leakey
