This one, of the regions he hunted in West Africa, is filled with anecdotes ("Plutocrats of Niger Delta used to decorate their women with necklets of ivory from large-dia. tusks. Force & palm oil were required. Price per pair £40.") and sketches-his steam-powered river launch, the catamaran houseboat, elephants in the swamps.
