18kt Gold "Shawu" Elephant Brooch depicting the South African bull Elephant Shawu, with diamond melee tusks and ruby eyes, 17.9 dwt, lg. 2 1/8 in.
Shawu is one of "The Magnificent Seven" bull Elephants whose tusks and skull is on display at Elephant Hall in Kruger National Park. He can be easily identified by his pincer-like tusks, which are the longest on record in Southern Africa.
