    Hi DavieH,

I have the same gun, same caliber, and use a Schmidt and Bender 1-6x red dot. It works fine long range (have shot antilopes at > 250 m range) medium range with poor light (shot leopard at night) but is also great for driven hunt (no parallax, have shot deer, roedeers and boars)

Many thanks as I had thought I had bought the wrong scope.
    I have just bought a Zeiss 1.5-6-42.
    I have 4 Blaser's in .223/.243/300 Win Mag and .375 H&H
    8 X 56 for both the .223 and .243
3x10x50 for the .300 Win Mag

    I think I am sorted

    Many Thanks

    DavieH

Nope, you are straight on the spot with the Zeiss.
I also use same scope on a R8 Selous 416 Rem, and also a Zeiss with greater magnification for a R8 success in 270 W and 338 WM...
It seems we share similar tastes for weapons and scopes...

    Take care and good hunting

I have a 2-7x Leupold on my .375 RUM that I am 100% satisfied with. I've used it on two trips in Africa including my Buffalo in Zimbabwe, and Vaal Rhebok at 250 yds, Bontebok at 310 yds, Gemsbok at 348 yds, and a spot and stalk Eland at 30 yds.

    DavieH,

The scopes mentioned are all great choices. There are a couple of 375 owners at the local range, one uses a Leupold VX-III 3.5x10x40, the other uses a Leupold VX-II 2x7x32, I personally like the VX-III 1.5x5x20. In the end I think it really does not matter what anyone elses opinion is on the scope of any rifle, as long as the owner is comfortable with it, and it works. you have a great scope and caliber combination. Good luck on all of your upcoming hunts with it.

BTW the gent with the 3.5x10 can ring a 36inch metal gong out at 600 yards 9 out of 10 times (which I cannot do, lucky to hear the gong half of the time) (from the bench) but my group is still tighter than his at 300 yards (again from the bench). I'm not to worry about it, I would worry (about the PH) if my PH told me to take a Cape buffalo at 600yards though.
