    Default SCI or DSC Convention?

    Hello all,
I am brand new to this forum. I'm planning an Africa trip and would like to attend one of the shows in early 2012 and would appreciate thoughts on those who have been to one or both of these.
Thanks for your input and I look forward to your response.

I can only speak for SCI. I have attended in Reno and think it's a truly fantastic experience. Next year it will be in Las Vegas and that should make it convenient to attend (along with things for the spouse to see and do). However, there are a lot of great outfitters and some fantastic deals on this very website.

I think they both have plus and minus's. The DSC is cheaper to attend...admittance is cheaper for sure!

SCI has a lot of auctions....and I know people that go every year just to bid on hunts, visit outfitters and see the taxidermy.

I know what my hunting budget is...and I spend my money on hunts...not shows. With the dollar being tighter and tighter...I need everything I got in the bank.

For the record I have nothing against either show...they are great opportunities to see sites and meet new people! And that is a very positive thing.

    Dear Beretta Shooter.

I am in the firearms business and have been and exhibitor at both. The SCI Reno/Vegas venue is much higher level especially if you are looking for guns. If your looking to book a hunt if could just be a matter of convenience. Many of the same outfitters are at both.
Dallas is usually earlier in the year and may offer a better selection for dates. SCI has some terrific deals on auction hunts, especially the last couple of years, with some hunts going for around half price. Both shows are worth while going to. If you are going to do both, do DSC first. After SCI it won't be as exciting.

    Dear Beretta Shooter

Welcome to this site. You would find all the information you need to plan your safari, on this fabulous site.

From exhibitors point of view, we attend only ONE hunting show or convention, and that is Dallas Safari Club Convention.

    Reasons:
    - Economical
    - Reach more potential clients

    Additional:
    - We arrange private house parties to reach more potential clients

Hope to see you in Dallas at booth number 1956, Hall E.

Enjoy the planning process of a potential safari perhaps to Namibia, Africa.
