It was indeed a great pleasure to once again welcome our long standing friend and client, Yuri Petrov from Russia and his friends, Sergey Dvulchanskiy and his son Konstantin, Sergey Rozano and his son Igor and Edgar Aramyan all from Russia! This time however, the WJVS team did something completely different for our hunters; we took the group of client's way up north near the Limpopo River to hunt Lion and plains game in Pieter Slabbert's area. Making up the WJVS team was Boss man, Wiaan Van Der Linde who was on hand to be a driver and to pour the "vodka" whilst, PH's Yvan, Johan Maritz, Pieter, Johan and Bradley sweated out there in the sticks with the hunters.

Good friends and clients of Tomas De Castro and all the way from Spain, Augusto Rodrigo and his sister Ana, joined the WJVS team for a second time this year. Also with the group, we welcomed 1st timer to Africa and Master Taxidermist Julian Burgos. Julian was a great inspiration around our African San Taxidermy and we thank Julian very much for showing us a few new tricks of the trade! PH Frikkie Nieuwoudt was on hand to take care of the hunters at Wintershoek Private Game Reserve and the whole safari was indeed a memorable one with lots of fun and good hunting had by all. We look forward to your return in 2013!!

For at least 15 years, Ken Barr from Kelseyville, California USA, has been coming on safari with Wintershoek Johnny Vivier Safaris and this November was no different. PH's Flip Coetzee and Arbrie Arlow met Ken, who is the 2012 Conklin Award recipeint, at the airport in Jo'berg and so the hunt began for some of the more difficult species that Ken wanted to hunt in RSA. The safari took Ken, Flip and Abrie, all the way up north and back down south of the country... The hunters had an extraordinary and very successful hunt to say the very least.

From Rexburg Idaho USA, we had the pleasure of hosting James Reed at Wintershoek for a few days of Hunting at the end of November. James is the director of advertising and sales for the renowned Sports Afield magazine and what a fine gentleman at that! PH Yvan Nieuwoudt was assigned to trek into the woods with James, who was really hoping to bag a big old Eland bull; seems that an Eland has eluded James on numerous other hunts that he has undertaken in other parts of southern Africa! Until James read our WJVS slogan "When you've tried the rest, come and hunt with the BEST".

2 Years ago we met Randy Sauceda who is from Houston Texas, at the SCI convention in Reno. Last month Randy and his wife Sonya touched down at O R Tambo airport for their 1st visit to South Africa. We welcomed Randy and Sonya who are our new agents on an exploration trip to see all the WJVS camps, Taxidermy and Africa Sky Guest House. The rest is history and it is pretty obvious that both Randy and Sonya, who added that special lady touch to the scene, were very impressed with what they saw; Randy has booked 15 hunters with WJVS for July 2013!!
