I have friends who have only gone 1 time and have not plans to return.
Plus i know other who have gone and have plans to return only to see the money flow shrivel to where it will be impossible for them to return.
So your question many would like to return other have put it out of there mind.James Grage - New Mexico

I vowed not to do the same hunt again.
I am going back though, i dont know if i will ever go back to an area that dosent have dangerous game.I have walked in the tracks of the elephant, heard the lion roar and met the buffalo on his terms. I shall never be the same.

I have a freind that went on a bowhunt in Namabia a couple of years ago and killed some very nice animals and said he would never return. I ask him why and he said that the owner also the head PH and his wife we pure you know whats and made the time spent there misreable. he booked with and agent and told him the same thing and the agent was shocked. A shame to see something like this happen and it probably happens more than we know.

Unfortunately stuff happens and it shouldn't. We (my wife and I) have worked up a system of picking our PHs/Outfitters so as to virtually eliminate that situation. We have been fortunate to have had 5 trips with excellent outcomes. We have introduced 7 other hunters to Africa and all are planning on going back or
already have. It distresses me to hear such stories knowing how hard all of the outfits we have hunted with have worked to show us a good time. I'm not saying it's this way in your case but I know some people (from another service venue) can not be pleased no matter what one does to make things work. Sometimes there are just bad clients. I guess we've been lucky. I still say-

Cannot think of anyone that has been and does not plan to go back, on or off of this forum... A local guy who owns a successful pool company, does not even have the taxidermy work back from his first hunt and has been back twice. Wish the times were as good too me, I only do his concrete work. The wife and I are trying to make 2014 happen with Koedoeberg again we'll get there , and then plan on trying some other African adventure, DG (maybe) if not there are plenty of PG animals to play with.

You're kidding, right?
My first time was to SA - baad time. Lousy outfitter, small farm, overshot, you know the deal. Still, you cannot keep me away. Namibia this time.

My brother went with me to Namibia in 2007 and hasnt tried to go back. He was very successful and did well. He said the old "once in a lifetime" thing too. Perhaps for him it is. My last hunt (Zim) was a bit of a bummer but I have at least one more hunt in me to introduce my son to Africa in a couple of years. Likely RSA again.

Been twice and had great hunting both times. Financially it aint easy...have put the house build on hold twice & as for replacing the old vehicle....well these boots are made for walkin'.
I'm dealing with it...biggest help has been the good wife who has the Africa bug badly. Going back in 2014.
Cheers for the new year you blokes.

I thought I was the only one! I'm completely addicted. It's been 6 months since my trip and I thought the crazyness would go away but it hasn't. I haven't booked a trip yet but I've been contemplating different hunts...completing spiral grand slam, springbok grand slam, a leapord hunt, etc. Anything just to get me back to Africa. I look at the pictures from my safari everyday. My family thinks I've completely lost it....maybe I have. Those that haven't gone just don't know how majestic Africa really is. While there, all I kept thinking was HOLY SH!T...I'm in Africa!! Truthfully, I'm not even the type of guy nor do I have the time for things like facebook or twitter but AH.com is awesome. I found AH.com prior to my hunt when I was searching on how to judge trophies. There's a ton of great info and stories here. If you can go to Africa and resist going back, then there's just something seriously wrong with you.

when my wife and I were planning to go, we thought "once". Then, the plans changed and my son and I went and I knew for sure I'd go twice, unless hindered financially or health-wise. I'm hoping to take my wife in 2014 or 2015. Likely, 2015 since I have to take my daughter on a Mule Deer hunt out west in 2014.
But, I could see me doing the 2015 with my wife, then a few years later doing a buffalo hunt or an archery hunt.

Hi my name is Bob Puckett and I'm an Africaholic. I've been twice and I told my Outfitter that I'd be back next year because 2 years was 2 long 5 months back home and I've already bought our plane tickets. Will be spending my Birthday in Africa again.

Enjoy life now -- it has an expiration date.
