    Default Aardwolf Bat Eared Fox

Last year I hunted the cape . When I was in the lodge I saw Aardwolf skins. I asked if they can be Hunted they said no. I also when hunting saw 3 beautiful Bat Eared Fox at close range. I said I would like one but the Ph said no.
Was this because I did not have permits or other. Or the land owner did not want them Hunted. At night the lodge owner and my PH went out and had taken some Aardwolf.
I just asked another outfitter and he said they can be Hunted with permits. I am planning to return to the Cape I would like to take these animals if possible.

4 of us also hunted the East Cape last May. We went out spotlighting one night. My son shot a nice Bat eared fox. We inquired about importing it. Seemed to be no trouble. I think our trophies have been released to our taxidermist. I'll check fr sure and get back to you. He was having a rug done. Unusual looking animal. Bruce

Aardwolf falls under CITES. Therefor you need a permit to shoot one and export it back home. We are hunting one in September, and its pretty simply to apply for tyhe permit. It could have been sas simple as that the outfitter did not have a permit at the time, or i that he did not know better. I cant be sure, but with the correct permit in place, you should have no problems.
