I have a called in Reedbuck, Zebra, jackal, Lion, Duiker, Steenbuck with mouth calls. Thinking about it, just about any territorial animal should respond to challenging calls!
When animals have been spooked during a stalk, I often use a long high pitched whistle to get them to stop and look back. Most often fatally! I have used this for Zebra, Kudu, 'woundebeest', Impala, Eland, Buffalo, Sable!

Ole Bally I use the same but due to the lack of my whistling skills I use a Green stone dog whistle they also use this in Chamois and Tarr in NZ, it is fatal as you correctly mention.

    Have a good one!

Very interesting Ernie and Jaco, we must get together for some lessons. I can't whistle and even my wife ignores me when I call, so I've got no chance with animals. I just creep up and shoot them..!
One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted.

Ha Ha !!!!! It seems that your wife has developed what we as males were born with selective hearing you should sort this issue right away, as it can lead to various others.
