My first trip was to have only 7 days of hunting; however, I had only shot one animal at the end of 7 days and the outfitter asked that I stay on his dime a couple more days to get my animals. Ended up taking 4 animals in the next 2 days before heading to Durban for a meeting.

!0 days was good first time but even then I thought it might be a day or 2 too long. Now (after 3 more 10 day hunts) I'm booking # 5 at 9 days hunting. 8 might be perfect from a tired out stand point of hunting every day at an age of 50+ for most of us (me 60+).

If you go once, you will return-deal with it!

We had two travel days and 7 days of hunting. Going back I'd like to see Vic Falls, and Kruger so will probably stay 10 + 5.

10 days both times, once in 08 and again in 2010. Booked again for 10 days this coming Sept. It does get long sitting over water for 10 days, but we are going after a lioness or lion with a bow this Sept, so that should add a lot of excitement to the 10 days!

I think a full 10 days of hunting is about right especially if things are going well. It can be long if they are not. I spent a full 14 days in the Okavango in 1990 plus a couple of lay days in camp and travel days. All told it was about 22 days door to door. Great experience.

On my first hunt in SA, I stayed for 5 hunting days with a gun and it was very much to short for me.
This year I am going for 12 hunting days.
I totally understand mudslinger saying that 10 days at a waterhole gets long and because of that I am focusing on stalking with my bow on my hunt.
I guess it will be much harder to get the animals I want and I guess I will not shoot so many animals, but I am sure I will love every minute of it instead of getting crazy after a few days inside a blind
I am a patient hunter while stalking, but very far from being patient when sitting in a blind or in a treestand waiting for animals to come to me...

I'd never ever go less than 10 days. My first safari was 17 and it was about perfect. My second will be 18 days.
I would never ever do a 7 day safari. IMO I think it's a farce; but that's just me. 1-2 days would be recovering and acclimating from the jet lag and time change. More is better!!

10 days on both safari's. I hate the plane ride over there and my rear end says it needs at least that many days before enduring that torture again!

10 days on my first, which was not long enough. I hope to make a 14 day someday soon.
