Update on Southern African Safaris and Nhenda Safaris partnership
Folks,
As you may be aware Nhenda Safaris owned by Bernhard and Brenda van Dyk, and Southern African Safaris owned by John and Deanie Harris entered into a partnership at the end of 2011 which combined the 2 operations to offer our agents, outfitters and clients a wide range of hunting and fishing safaris throughout South Africa and Mozambique.
As a result of this consolidation, we have made certain strategic business decisions to focus and streamline our operation under one banner.
To this end we have entered into discussions with another company and have made the decision to sell off the Nhenda Safaris company and the hunting area which was registered to Nhenda in Mozambique.
This is still pending the final agreement and sign-off although indications are that the other company have jumped the gun which has potentially caused a bit of anxiety.
We will in future trade under the name of Southern African Safaris limitada which is currently being registered in Mozambique.
The successful deal will mean that we can focus more attention on our adjoining Tetense Safari area where we have already been conducting a lot of our hunts over the past couple of seasons.
This area is also 380 000ha of easier hunting terrain, and has a 50 km waterfront on the north side of Cahorra Bassa with a myriad of coves and bays and several rivers which have good populations of croc and hippo, and good Tiger fishing .
Animals on the hunting area include Elephant, Lion, Leopard , Sable, Kudu, Hyena, Chobe bushbuck and a small population of Buffalo and some smaller populations of other animals.
We have a permanent camp with generators, a fully equipped kitchen and dining room with lapa and 5 air-conditioned en-suite rooms overlooking a tributary which is home to several pods of hippo.
We have a better road infrastructure and on site road maintenance equipment, and besides a full complement of camp staff, we also have a 15 member strong anti poaching and animal movement reporting team which fits in with our long term plan of encouraging the game populations to build up again.
Operating from this camp will also allow us more convenient access to logistics and better direct road transfers to Tete in addition to the across Cahorra Bassa transfers we have become known for.
We are also looking at incorporating a houseboat which will give a new dimension to our fishing and hunting safaris.
We are extremely excited at this change, and we are confident that it will contribute to the continuation of the exciting and successful safaris that have been our hallmark..
All our existing agreements and bookings will be honored and our price list will remain the same.Last edited by AfricaHunting.com; 01-10-2012 at 07:13 AM.

Sounds like a merger of business.
The area sounds good.
I know that Mozambique is on the radar for a future location to go on Safari.James Grage - New Mexico

I sure hope Southern Africa Safaris is operated a lot better than Nhenda Safaris. If Bernhard Van Dyk has anything to do with the operation all I can say is be EXTREMELY AWARE.
