Next time, you might consider hunting where there are more than one or two shootable cats. Setting out to shoot a single leopard or limiting yourself to two possible leopards is a recipe for failure.

More cats on property = more likelihood of getting a mature male on bait = more dead cats = more happy hunters.

I've had four big males on four baits at one time AND two males on the same bait at the same time. To succeed at leopard hunting, you just go where they are, same as every other kind of hunting.

    Congrats on the big sable.

Hello all. Let me start off by saying that Myself and Andy Cacciatori are the owners of First Class Africa. First Class Africa is the Africa arm of First Class Outdoors. First Class Africa is set up to book hunts for our outfitters in Southern Africa (Mozambique, Namibia, Botswana and South Africa). Dirk Terblanche has misled people into believing he is owner of FCA. Now for our story. I owned a hunting company in South Africa and was and Outfitter/PH for 2 years. They changed their laws and made it so Non South African citizens could not be PH's. Thus I came home. I booked for several guys that I knew and worked with exclusively for 8 years. One by one they started falling off the map (death, financial problems, or just fed up with the business). I was introduced to Dirk electronically through Facebook by a client. He hunted at Dirk's with another PH and shot great trophies. I checked him out last year and there were no red flags. In the meantime, the other guy on here that is worried about trophies bought a donation hunt and I liaised between him and Dirk. I hunted with Dirk in June of last year and killed some great trophies ( Gold & Silver Medal quality - not that I care so much in that but just so you get an idea of quality). At that time i added him to my stable of South African PH's. Then earlier this year all hell broke loose, I caught Dirk in some lies and one of my clients helped me discover that Dirk is not a licensed PH. It is sad, because aside from the lies and fraud he was a nice guy, good PH and had very good trophies. Now he's going to be locked up. I am getting alot of slack from people about this and I will take my lumps, but I stepped up and paid money out of my own pocket to make things right for my clients. First Class Outdoors and First Class Africa are reputable companies and will continue to what is best for our clients. I am really glad to see people on here being honest and speaking out about experiences with bad PH's. Had I seen these comments then I would have known more.
Oh and for the record Dirk changed his company name from Terblanche Safaris to Top Class Africa or TC Africa TC Africa

Best of luck to you and First Class Outfitters! I think you made a honest mistake, and you took care of your clients....which is great. It's unfortunate the "Dirk's" of this world have to do what they do...it's a shame. Especially when they tangle nice guys in the mess.

It takes a lot of guts to admit you fell in with a douche bag. I applaud your honesty and thank you very much for exposing this a-hole! I just wish I had the opportunity to meet him first hand and greet him in my own special way.

There is an investigation going on right now that is getting bigger by the day. Dirk will get his soon enough. Unfortunately there will be more and more victims. Dirk is working with a guy in Canada now that is booking him lots of clients. I have contacted the guy and he ignores my calls and emails. He just continues to book clients...mostly his friends.

Is there away that you could Give us this guy in Canada website or email address two reasons I would like to ask him why he would sell a dirtbag like Dirk and so others can be aware of him and avoid booking through him.

I am Bob Puckett I am looking for information on Dirk Terblanche I was looking at his website for a hunt but was warned off due the to fact that he is under investigation for illegal hunting and had lost his PH license. I was also told that you sold hunts for him and was wondering if you could Clarify the fact that he is under investigation and if so why are you selling hunt for him if you in fact are. I don't know what you have been told but everyone I've talked to other the two that have informed of info has said there hunts and everything they got was top notch. I'm not selling hunts for him just organizing my own group for next year. I'm actually going over in sept to see for myself first hand instead of second or third or from unreliable people that haven't even been there. That's my story now what's yours? And who is your informant?

I guess It is my time to chime in on this matter. I booked a hunt through first class outdoors over a year ago and just got back from a hunt with Dirk in late April. I posted story on AH. Shortly Upon my return I was contacted by Mike from FCA and advised of the problems with Dirk which came to light unknown to me at the time, during my safari with Dirk. Since then I have discoverd alot about Dirk and I am working with Mike and the SA authorities to get my safari trophies back to me here in the states. As you can see from my other post that I had a wonderful trip and took some great trophies. It was my first safari and I loved it, Until now dealing with this issue. I am a victim of Dirk's evil ways and warn everyone to stay clear of him. First Class Africa and Outdoors have been nothing but honest and very helpful to me with dealing with this matter. I truly appreciate all they have done for me ref this issue and I can only hope that everything works out favorably for everyone involved who has been victimized by this guy.

Sorry to hear of all of the problems. I am from the area and have known the Terblanche's for years. The parents are the greatest people you would ever know and ran a good farm with good hunting. Young Dirk started down the wrong path many years back. We was a licensed PH at one time. I know of many instances where he just failed to complete a hunt for international clients but there was nothing grossly wrong. About 3-4 years ago Dirkie went off the tracks and would do anything for a buck. I had a meeting with PH's from the area last night and it appears that one and all now know to avoid him.

For the guys that are having problems getting trophies out I may be able to assist. I would like to hear what you have, assume all are in Pongola. You can send me a pm, they are no promises. I have been able to work with the Parks Board on shipping many trophies this year.

    Weird to say the least.
Any of you guys ever just drop over to Africa just to check a place out before going hunting for yourself the following year?

    "And who is your informant?"

So, this guy been watching too many police shows.
    "Informant", Freudian slip or what?
