Terrain and sightings - Hartzview Hunting Safaris

Hey guys,

I thought I will post a few pictures off the area we hunt. This is our base camp of 20 000acres. There is no inner fences on the area. We have 26 species of game all in great numbers in this area including rhino, buffalo and crocodile. We do get leopard that pass through occasionally but we do not get permits to hunt them here. I hope you enjoy the scenery and the pictures.

Thank you for the kind words. I do not like snakes very much and luckily they are all hibernating through the hunting season.

We have a bunch of rock drawings on the ranch dating back hundreds of years. I believe the ones I posted here were more recently, probably in the earlier 1900's. There is also drawings of elephant, eland, giraffe, lion, hippos and gemsbuck and a few we cannot make out. I believe that it is indications that these animals were native to this area for hundreds of years.

With the rocks in that landscape you don't get to drive everywhere. Sure shows hunting on foot is required in some places.

Brickburn that is so true what you are saying. I must admit that most of the better trophies we take is from foot. I love to sit and glass for a hour or so everyday and then hunt from there. You usually see something worth trying for while glassing. I also love the diversity of the area... We have rolling hills, open plains and more thick stuff where the buff and Kudu hang out. Everything on one area.

Billc we are all looking forward having you guys in camp and hunting with you and your son. Time is ticking by fast though...

Graybird you know where to come for your "old stink bull". ;-) (The gunbearer could look like the one on your profile pic! I will be stalking in the back then... lol)
