My name is Bill & I've been an addict for Africa my whole life it seems. But since I finally got to go to see Lady Africa, well words can't seem to express. I posted on here that Africa is a drug once.

Last night I purchased my 3rd trip in three years.

I know I have a problem, but if you try to cure me we may have a problem

I am with you brother, headed out in Sept. for the 5th time. I do not call it an addiction anymore, I call it living a dream. I really wasn't going to go this year but I got such a great deal I couldn't pass it up. I tell my wife everytime that this trip will get it out of my system but it hasn't worked yet. I guess I'll just have to keep trying.

Very true & factual u write about AFRICA ! Its intoxicating , the obsession for this beautiful land , animals & hunting can never erase or die till we live , and its the worst of addictions , and is much better than the best of scotches. Waiting for July to take my plains game safari , after 4 long years shall I tread on the land of every hunters dream and the time seems to run at a very slow pace . Hail AFRICA !!!

Come on guys your killing me.I have not even done the first trip with my son and have been thinking of another already.You guys should be helping us first timers fight this off and not get addicted.lol I guess I will just join the rest and not fight it at all.

Off for trip # 6 in June, Zim for eland and other PG. Boddington used to call it, "The African Obsession".

Africa is undoubtedly extremely addictive but there is a cure.

Try living here for a few years and dealing with African officialdom and you'll be instantly cured.

I've been running a business here for over 30 years and living here for more than 10 years and STILL have regular visa problems..... and it drives me nucking futs!

I sometimes wonder why I bother with it all.....

I have not even been there < I leave this monday night > and I allready have the fever and Marius that was a funny post lol

My dad used to say about places other than home, "nice place to visit, but I wouldnt want to live there".

If you take the wife , you will be doubly cursed/blessed. My wife planned our second trip before the plane left Joberg on our first trip return. The 4th and 5th are planned and she plans on shooting stuff. I don't think she is buying that she must shoot an impala for meat on every trip anymore. I guess I am blessed......... at least I will get to watch.
