What Areas Have You Hunted in Zambia?

What areas have you hunted in Zambia? What species did you take? How many days? If you have hunted in more than one area how did they compare? For those of you unfamiliar with Zambia you can use these hunting maps as reference.

I hunted the Mumbwa West concession adjoining Kafue Park in 1994 and 1997, taking lion, zebra, Lichtenstein hartebeest, Crawshay defassa waterbuck, common reedbuck, impala, Chobe bushbuck, oribi, puku, bush duiker, Sharpe grysbok, and warthog in the two 21-day safaris.

- 2005 Lunga Busanga (north border of the Kafue Park): buffalo, 47" sable, chobe bushbuck, puku
- 2008 Mukungule (Muchinga escarpment NW of the North Luangwa park): leopard, buffalo, common reedbuck, warthog
- 2010 Chanjuzi (between South and North Luangwa): lion, buff, hippo, puku, crocodile

Hi

I hunted Sandwe GMA, Luangwa Valley, in 1990. Lots of poaching going on , but got Buffalo, Lion, 14ft croc, Puku, Bushbuck, Hippo, Impala and so on.

Kasonso in 1995. Buffalo and Plains Game. Lots of poaching and often found tracks of poachers in front or behind us. Hard work, but nice area.

Nyampala, Luangwa Valley in 2007. Best area I have hunted. A LOT of Buffalo, Elephant and Lions. Now under new management, so can't comment on present company running it.

Chanjuzi, Luangwa 2009. Late September. Buffalo very spooky and sometimes all buggered off into the National Park across the river, leaving nothing to hunt.. Others got Lion and Leopard while we were there. Nice area, but lots of driving, villages, fishermen etc. We got Buffalo, Croc, Hippo, Puku, Impala, Kudu, Wildebeeste, Bushbuck and so on.
