Rusa deer hunting in MAURITIUS ISLAND

It looks like you had a very good trip nimrod-100. I never knew about rusa hunting on Mauritius and always thought if I did the hunt it would be in New Caledonia but I think now if I ever take the plunge Mauritius would get my vote.

It is a wonderfull experience to hunt rusa deers combined with a family holidays. Lionel make this possible in a natural paradise as its the Mauritius Islands. I definitely plan to do it in the future with a reliable outfitter like Lionel.

What about those wild pigs Lionel ??? Do you have also any pics of boars hunted in Mauritius ??' What size they reach ???

Yes the boar are a newly recognised specie by the S.C.I (like the rusa deer) because of their pure genetic, they was never crossed with other deer species since they was introduced in 1639.
Concerning the wild boar they can weight an average of 55 kilos but we shot some very interessting one. They can have some very good tusk and the bigest one shot by my guest was a 35 Cm long (incredible) and he's number one on the S.C.I.
I will try to put some pictures.

1.One(1) Rusa deer

2.Pigs or hogs(if possible give the current price per pig)

3.Pheasants and other birds which I are special in Mauritius and let me know the bag limits and inform me whether the pheasant hunting is of free range with dogs or what)

4.Marlin fishing

5.Warm weather (swimming in the sea,enjoy the beach and seafood,etc)

How many days would you recommend and what the max.budget would total to?

it's a great pleasure to give you some news, and sorry for this late answer but I was in S.A to pass my exam to be P.H...

When ist the best time in Mauritius to have combo hunt for;

1.One(1) Rusa deer: The best season is from june to the end of october (matting season in july to middle of august)

2.Pigs or hogs (if possible give the current price per pig) Pig it's all the year long and the price is 250 Euros per animal,

3.Pheasants and other birds which I are special in Mauritius and let me know the bag limits and inform me whether the pheasant hunting is of free range with dogs or what) Pheasant is with pointer or draathar and we can hunt 10 little game per hunter at 325 Euros (shortgun and the first 15 cartridges included + meal + breakfast + permit + drinks + guide) and we can also add some more pheasant at 20 Euros per pheasants,

4.Marlin fishing (Better from february to the end of marsh)

5.Warm weather (swimming in the sea,enjoy the beach and seafood,etc) June to october it's the winter but with 25 degrees outside!!! Summer start in november and it's 35 to 38 degrees on the south cost (where my area is situated)

How many days would you recommend and what the max.budget would total to? The full package is a 4990 Euros FOR 2 PERSONS on a half board during 8 days (7 nights) in a 5 stars resort and spa hotel, pick up from and to the airport, two days of hunt with the taxe of a GOLDEN MEDAL STAG RUSA DEER (newly recognised by the S.C.I !) and if you can not shoot during those two first hunting days we offer you the other days with no charge, permit, rifle, amunitions, guide, 4 by 4 , meals during the hunt, first preparation of trophies. EVERYHTING IS INCLUDED excepted flying tickets.
