Afrikaans Translation
I'm looking at an amended contract for my hunt in RSA and I see under the "deposit paid" block the amount I paid, the date it was paid and the booking agent's name followed by "het die bedrag".
What does that mean? A few searches produced results to make it look like it means, "paid this sum"?
Also, any recommended simple English to Afrikaans websites out there?
Would like to learn basics including:
Please
Thank You
Here -or- take this (as in, "you didn't get a sandwich or soda, take mine")
I need to use the bathroom
I don't understand
Please excuse me (as in I'm in J'burg airport and, "I really don't want to give you any money. Please let me be on my way.)
Any more you can recommend...?

HI
Hello,
" het die bedrag " mean basically " have the amount ( referring to cash ) "
If i would say " ek het die bedrag " I have the amount.
So to sum it up i recon your payment amount has been received....
regards,
owen

dustyvarmint,
Excellent thought on knowing a couple translated phrases. I never thought of this, but I think they will come in handy, thanks.

Spent 20 years in the Navy - instead hanging out in the bars and "gut" I liked to meet the people and see the culture instead. Learning a few words, especially "thank you" always seemed to go a long ways.
