Thanks Jake. I hope you have a great time.
In my experience I've never met a salesman who wasn't my friend. Until something goes wrong. And that's where your real allies get sorted out. It required an investigation by Zim Parks & Wildlife and a US trial court to get my issues handled. Make what you want of the situation but those are the facts.
Wishing you the best on your safari.
Eric, Although I am retired from Zim Pro hunting, I'll give you a reply as best I can! Firstly, you need to distinguish between PH and Operator! The PH is the guy who actually took you hunting each day and the Operator is 'Pasat Safaris' in this case. What correspondence did you have with who at ZPHGA?
The PH is responsible for you signing the TR2 book at the camp, the trophy shipment list and instructions and your NP11 form. He then hands this over to the 'Operator' at the end of your safari who then has to bank your moneys paid for the hunt within 14 days. When this is done, he'll get a CD1 form from the (Reserve) bank which allows him to get the trophy export documents done. The CD1, the export doc's and proof of payment docs are needed by the Taxidermist to get the trophies out. I know this won't help much at this stage, but when booking hunts in future in Zimbabwe, check out the ZPHGA website and see who the PH's are that are registered there. Then use an Association registered PH. SOAZ (Safari Operators Association of Zimbabwe) are the association that deals with operators and you can email them on firstname.lastname@example.org attention Sally Bowen. If however, the operator is not a member, then your only recourse is through the National Parks Director General.
You are correct Ole. In this case I think PH Watson Tshipa is also the operator (Pasat Safaris). I ended up working with several excellent investigators at Zimbabwe Parks & Wildlife who tracked Mr. Tshipa down and suspended his license to operate until the paperwork requirements were satisfied. Even then we had to apply additional pressure in order to get Tshipa to pay the taxidermist the money that I had left in his care to cover the charges. It was a real mess until Zim Parks got involved. They were extremely understanding and moved very quickly to get everything cleared up. And you are absolutely correct that I failed to properly research both the PH and operator. I relied too much on my US based booking agent and it bit me in the butt.
Maybe Arnold wants to comment on this piece?
You have one (1) guy on here defending Payne, hinting everyone else is a fake or fool, and everyone else feels the opposite. Hmmm....
Eric, glad your determination paid off. Long haul.
You are to be commended on your perseverance. Were you successful in collecting on your judgement against Payne/Impala?
I just glad a South African was not involved.....
My best always!
Who'd you hunt with Jim? Perhaps I can recommend someone for you?

jakeinTX, are you trying to position yourself to possibly market hunts for Arnold on AH??? it sure looks like it as you refuse to give any credit to the FACTS that are on hand. Please try to gather all the facts before you start calling the members in here liars. This website was built by Jerome to attempt to help hunters stay away from people like Arnold. The cats out of the bag and its gonna be a liitle hard to put it back in. There are tons of people you can market hunts for. I would suggest you pick another person. If brokering isn't what you are after and you are trying to defend a friends reputation you might try picking better friends.
