Bushpigs best and easier hunted during the night sitting and a feeding spot. You can also get them during the day if you prepared to walk far and hard through some thick bush ( to do this is better to use dogs if you like it ). They are also active after lots of rain or even while its drizzeling you can hunt them if u wish :-)
Bushpigs are found nearly all over SA except in the central , north west side where its very dry they dont live there. Basically you get them all down the coast line and high north.
I have only hunted them in the Eastern Cape and have shot monsters there thats all i can say.
Great to hunt ! Dangerous when wounded !

Make sure the outfitter specialize in hunting Bushpigs.
Make sure that you go to the best bushpig area's.
They can be very challenging to hunt with the bow or rifle at night

Bushpig hunting on bait is a must do hunt! It is very challanging and exciting hunt and they do not call them "poor mans Leopard" for nothing. I am sure that we can help you to find one of Africa's most elusive species, excellent hearing smell and sight!

I will be there nextJuly hunting caracal with dogs. Is possible to combine the use ofthe hounds to hunt both species ???

I am a outfitter in the eastern cape, i don't only specialise in these creatures i live for hunting and outwitting them at a bait .I had a group of 4 hunters in and we took 5 boars ,massive achievement.I had 9 baits ,kept them going from when they were hit until the clients came and took there trophy pigs.

I was fortunate enough to be on a PG hunt (for the wife) at a combo game farm/sugar plantation in Zambia. We were called to the fields every time they scheduled a burn prior to harvest. The bushpigs come running out ahead of the fire. I had a iron sighted .270 and was able to shot several in the daytime, running shots all. Also got to shoot some cane rats as well.
