South African Fellow Deer
We introduced some European deer onto the property some odd 8 years ago. We quickly managed to get some good heads. With some new blood introduced into the herds there was an improvement. So we reached the first benchmark namely harvesting only deer that that makes the book. Two years later we bought in stud deer. It is paying off for we are braking the 200 SCI markconstantly! Here is the first Fellow for 2013 in velvet.

Those are some fine fallow deer. I know when I was chasing Vaal Rhebok in the winterburg mountains I would see small herds of free ranging Fallow deer still have to get one.
Enjoy life now -- it has an expiration date.

Great looking Fallow bucks.
Most of the time I see Fallow bucks from SA, they have very split palms.
At what time do they shed the velvet in SA?

Nice Fallows. They almost look like mini-Caribou with that much mass.
