    Should be fun for someone.

The Baboons must be taking the EC over.

They for sure did in an area I tried to get my Kudu with Marius last year.

It's my limited understanding from reading on the forums that eating your quarry is one thing that happens later that evening. I'm quite possibly mistake, as I've yet to experience Africa, but what happens to this meat? Baits? Left for the scavengers?

Sorry if this is a silly question. Cull hunt is sounding like it might be the better method for me to use for my first hunting trip. Someone told me on another thread that if I wanted to bring home a cull as a trophy it would be ok. I'm not too picky about what ends up on the wall.

Every scrap of the animal is used. The meat will definitely be used. The skins and horns have lesser value to the outfitter but the meat is value able. There is nothing wrong with cull hunts. To be honest you might love them. A trophy is in the eye of the beholder. Like I said, before you could still mount stuff...I would not necessarily recommend it, but taking horns or Euro mounts home would be cool. I'm not a big tanned skin person but everyone is different.

I have now taken quite a few cull animals in various places.
From broken legged Nyala to Giraffe. Wildebeest and Gemsbok/Oryx.

Two of the largest (trophy size) Oryx I have taken were culls.
They were just in areas that needed to have the population thinned.

I have had Blesbok and Black Wildebeest offered as well.

Absolutely nothing wrong with this type of hunt as long as you are not focused solely on inches.

The meat from anything edible will be used.
From rations for workers, all the way to finished products sold at market or the butchery.

My apologies for not responding earlier. I was on a hunt and in and out of internet coverage for the next couple of weeks. All our meat gets used and you will definitely get to sample the meat you hunt. I've sent you a PM.
