"African" shot on roedeer at 200 yards: first animal of a 47 year old women

Last sunday my girlfriend took this beautiful roedeer

Shoulder/lung/heart/lung : African shot !

Her first animal for her first hunting season, 1 month before our departure to RSA for our first safari. We are ready !



Ruger American rifle in 270 win, Barnes TTSX 130 grains, Burris fullfield 3.5-10x50, Primos tripod.

Roe deer are spread right across Europe east to Siberia. That is a wonderful first buck and your lady has the perfect rifle combo for your plains game hunt.

This roedeer was hunted in the south west of France. They are very common. Hunters take around 500 000 roedeers each year in France, mostly in driven hunt with dogs and with shotguns. A growing number is hunted by stalking.

We will be hunting in the Eastern Cape area near Grahamstown.
We are soooo excited, it is in less than 4 weeks.

I will bring my gopro and 2 camcorders, I hope that I will be able to shoot awesome videos such as this one, to share them with you folks !

I will be hunting with my Blaser R8 9.3x62 mm, z6i 1.7-10 x 42 and Sako Hammerhead 286 grains (one inch grouping at 200 yards).

What a beautiful deer. Spent five years in Germany in the late 70's and spent many, many evenings in high seats hunting "rehwild". Congrats to both of you.

Only 6 days till our Roe Buck season starts
And then on August 15, I will take my 7 year old son with me to hunt Roe bucks in Sweden as their Roe buck season starts August 16
Usually there are many bucks on that lease
