SOUTH AFRICA: Just Returned From HartzView Hunting Safaris

Day 10: Flying out at 8pm. Still time to hunt the morning and this time I was given permission to take an Impala. Being short on time I didn't think we would be able to find a good ram but luck was on my side as we were not far out of camp when the tracker spotted a herd of doe Impala. We bailed off the truck and hiked up the hill to glass down. Within minutes Jac had spotted the ram and pointed him out to me. With one shot the old ram hit the dirt and a feeling of joy and sadness hit us. Having a trip of a lifetime with great new friends and unfortunately knowing it has come to an end...

I thought long and hard as to what could have be improved on during the trip and I still can't come up with anything except to fly into Kimberly (my fault on that one). Joburg traffic is out of control and will hold you up for hours getting in and out, just an FYI.

Everything from the Lion area and Jac's main area with absolutely wonderful. Food above reproach, Lodging out of this world, service and attitude from everyone was always positive and smiling faces on everyone. I believe the entire operation truly enjoys what they do and it shows. The vast amount of land/animals that we hunted on/seen was amazing and at no time did I feel confined or that any boundary helped us take any animals in any way. We wanted a physical hunt and that is exactly what we achieved...

Thanks Jacques for the incredible hunt and look forward to next years hunt on "my turf" and seeing you and the Mrs in Dallas.
Also to all our AH members that contributed to our search and answered questions, thank you as well.

If anyone has any specific questions please feel free to call or PM.

Great report and they have a way of spoiling you when there. The trophys you took were amazing and what hunting in africa is all about. After seeing some other parts of africa we hope to get back to hunt with jacques in 2015 or 2016.I bet you wont have to talk your other half into going back after that hunt.

What dates will you be there sir??....we are there June 13-26

May 27 - June 5. Might as well leave now, can't sleep, can't focus at work, the shakes are settling in.....must get my African fix.

Double on Kudu.... I thought for sure you had been tricked...

But damn, that picture does not lie one bit. You both got very nice Kudu bulls.

Congratulations.
I am glad your wife took you along on her African Safari.
She'll take you back for a repeat in a few years

Thanks for the hunt report.

Hey guys,

Thank you guys for all the kind words and the report on Hartzview. We truly appreciate the business and we enjoyed having you guys in camp.... We are all looking forward on having you back soon! Luckily you both got kudu now as my bulls will not survive another Tabor Safari.... ;).

Thank you once again for the report and looking forward to the 2014 hunt with you my friend!

Best regards,

Jacques

What an amazing trip to be able to share with your wife! My wife once-upon-a-time wanted to hunt and I think I missed that ship as it sailed. The great thing she will let me go (and go back) so the costs aren't too crazy. That would be the down side of hunting with the wife, but the plus side is such an amazing trip and fantastic memories and killer trophies! Thanks for sharing!

Congrats on what sound like a fantastic hunt, taking family with you is does add to the cost (as sanderson0203 points out) but, in my opinion, it's worth the extra cost.

I agree with you guys on always taking the family with. I wouldn't leave my wife behind no matter what the cost and also the fact if I did, my life would be in danger...

Great report and pictures. Congrats!!!

Thanks for the report. I missed it when it came out. Congrats on the animals. Two fantastic kudu. I can see why they are your avatar.
