Felix Marnewecke, a Namibian big five PH was trampled by a wounded Buffalo yesterday afternoon. He was hunting in the north of Namibia, in the Caprivi strip along with another PH. After following the wounded Buffalo, it charged and got to Felix who then got penetrated by the horn in multiple places. Felix was lucky enough to have the other PH with him, whom then shot the Buffalo on top of him.

A lot of things are still unclear, but I will post as soon as I get more news from the NAPHA (Namibia Professional Hunters Association).

Currently Felix is in the hospital. The NAPHA office spoke to him this morning and he is keen to get back in the hunting field... Just shows you what rare breed a PH really is!

My thoughts and prayers are with him for a speedy recovery!

Good luck on a speedy recovery

Ugh....What the hell is going on this year?!

Good luck to him and hope for a wonderful recovery.

Wish him all the best.

Now, for the rest of you guys now hunting, please be careful !!!

Wow, I can not believe how this year has turned out. My best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Sounds like the PH is ok.
Good wishes to him on a speedy recovery.

Keep safe everyone!

Wishing Felix also a speedy recovery. Jacques, please keep us posted on how he's doing.

So sorry to hear about yet another tragedy. My heart goes out to him and his family.

Vasbyt Felix, all the best and get well asap.

Good new! Felix is not seriously injured. Very happy for him and his family indeed.

"Dear Stan,

Yes ist true, Felix was charged by a buffalo. We flew him out to Windhoek to
the hospital.

I spoke to him this morning. His injuries are not as bad as suspected and he
will be fit for your hunt!!! He confirmed that just an hour ago.

We first wanted to hear the doctors before we wanted to contact you on the
issue! He was lucky!!

Hope you are well.

Best regards,"

That's great news and thanks for sharing.

Good news Stan.

Take this as a good sign for your hunt.
Felix must be a tough customer or really stubborn.

Either way he is tough, you poke 2 holes in the average guy and he isnt going hunting any time soon!

I think he senses that a hundred pounder is waiting for me. Hahaha.

Do your best to protect him from that tiny Elephant you are looking for.
Shoot straight.
Look forward to the story and pictures.

Good luck with recovery Felix.

Good hunting to you Stan and "shoot to kill."

Hello all, I want to keep you updated on Felix.

"I am in Cape Town recovering from the accident. I will be back in Namibia on Tuesday. The buffalo put a hole in my lower back, my right upper leg and my groin. I am able to walk but not very fast."
