Hello everyone, I am new too this site,
I am considering going to Mananga Safaris, Mbuyu bush camp, on a plains game hunt in april 2013.
Just wondering if anyone has any feedback! good, bad, or otherwise, about this outfitter.

Welcome to the forum, Outdoorsy !

I myself have never heard of Mananga Safaris, Mbuyu bush camp but wanted to welcome you to AH Outdoorsy!

Welcome to AH.
They look like they try to offer a lot of options.
Not sure if there are any hunt reports on AH. Have a search.
It will also allow you to read other reports and compare.

Good luck.

Welcome to the site Outdoorsy! I cant say that I have heard of this outfitter, but it sure looks nice on their website. You probably will be just fine with them, but it never hurts to inquire about the guys you goin to leave your cash with!

Welcome to the site, Outdoorsy. the site certainly has helped me book our trip for next year and has sinced helped to find taxidermists and shipping. See you are from Kitchener, grew up in Elmira .... have fun planning your trip!

Welcome to another Canadian to AH. I cant help with Mananga but if you cant find the info you need to be confident booking there are many great outfits on here that will fill the bill.

Welcome to AH. A adventure to be had. Good luck.

Welcome to AH.

If you have already booked your safari, then good luck, hope you have a great safari.

However if you are doing your leg work prior to booking then here are a few questions for you.

Ask them for some references from the past 2 to 3 years safaris that they have conducted and contact every one of them to see how they did. Put together a list of questions to ask all of them prior to making contact. like Facilities, meals, trophy or just animals spotted daily. Quality of trophy taken and so on.

As web sites go theirs look good, and it should they are in the selling business.

Try and find a few additional one to compare facilities, animals offered and prices.

You did not say what you are going after? Early April is early for the Kudu and Eland rut, May is better.

Welcome to this forum. I think you will find it very informative. I too live in Kitchener. Last year I went to South Africa and hunted with Jacques Spamer from Hartzview Safaris. I would like to go back in 2013 and hunt again. If you have any questions or need info PM me.

We may have crossed path's somewhere, I grew up in St.Clements.

If you are looking for a broker / taxidermist ??? You may want to give Dave Brodhagen a call. "Big Game Artistic Wildlife Creations and Taxidermy, located in town of Clyde, just outside Cambridge. He was at the african hunting show in Toronto, he does great work.
He did my Caribou, as well as my friends Deer, Turkey, Bear, Zebra, Kudu, Impala.

Adgunner You may want to check Dave Broadhagen out for Taxidermy work. Big Game wildlife Art.

Thanks everyone for welcoming me to this site, seems like a great site so far, and i exspect i will find a great deal of information here.

I am considering tagging along with the Taxidermist I use . on his 3rd trip to Africa. He is planning on going to Mananga safaris (fisrt time) in Limpopo province. It will be a 2 week trip, with at least 12-14 days in camp. I have not fully decided what animals i want. but leaning towards, Waterbuck, Impala, Blue Wildebeast, Warthog, and Blesbok or springbok. I would also like to do some fishing and bird hunting, and would probably take my varmint call along... with hopes of getting a Jackal. My Caribou and Blonde Coyote mounts are in need of company.

Welcome to the forum Outdoorsy,

Enjoy planning your first African Safari and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about hunting South Africa.

Jacques

I read that and cracked up thinking about a guy I just hunted with, Marius of KMG Safari. Jackal was on my list and got one. Marius would get this crazy look in his eyes each time a jackal yipyapped while we ate supper. I couldn't decide if he loved them or hated them but I know he liked killing them.
Welcome to AH.
blessings, Jerry

Outdoorsy, Thanks for the contacts, i will look them up, but i will probably have my mounts done there. Might come in handy for the next bear or deer if i am so fortunate!

Thats funny I think a lot of outfitters on the east cape feel that way. I know my friend and PH Rusty told me not to book for jackal we would go to his farm and hunt and if I get anything he'd pay me so when ever we go back jackal and Caracal not that I'd let him pay me anyhow.
