Hi everybody.
Just want to get some input on this recent warthog skull that we dipped. Do you like or dislike it ? We are going
to try some other patterns on some other skulls soon. We do alot of the normal camo patterns on North American
game but we are liking some of these other patterns for our clients African skulls. This warthog skull is for a client
in Jacksonville, Florida and is now ready to ship.

I like it ,somthing differnt and makes the skull look like it was fossilized

Tough for me to do a review. I always try to look at the positive side. Everyone has individual taste. What I like may be completely different than what some one else likes.

My first thought is - the skull has a 'wet" appearance to it, kind of like the hide was just peeled off of it. For me it isn't something I would have done if it was my skull.

It looks nice and I'm sure some people would like it. Not for me though.

I do agree that the skull looks wet and may be appealing to some, but not for me. I would prefer just the natrual skull color without any changes - seems unnatrual.

Kudos for trying something different. I'm not a big fan as it looks like it just came out of the boiling bucket but some guys will like it.

Thanks everybody for your input so far. I actually think it looks better in person than in the pics.
But we are just wanting to offer our clients something different if they so choose. We mostly just do the cleaning and whitening of the skulls but do offer the dipping if the client is looking for something different for his showroom.

So is everybody against the dipping all together or just this paticluar pattern ??

Give us some more examples.

I saw some of your guys dipped skulls at our sci dinner in Ohio a few weeks ago. I think it was in a realtree pattern. I am not a big fan of it on African animals. Some people may like it. It is a darker color so the contrast of the head and teeth was there compared to this skull. The whitetail skull I liked. But the warthog just didn't have the same appeal to me. I like the white of a good skull.

Post some other pics as well. The color on this one I really don't like. It does look like it just came out of the pot. Don't think it does the dipping process any justice.

The dip is different. It would depend on where it would be displayed.

Everyone has a different idea on where to put these items and it would help if it were in it's final resting place to give you a better perspective of how it looked.

In my opinion, i do not like the tusks bleached.

Tom, I do not have any other examples on African skulls right now. I do have some more non camo
patterns ordered to try on some African skulls. All I have to show right now is some North American
game. But it will give everybody an idea.

RickB,
Did I get the chance to talk to you at the SCI Banquet, I hope ?? If not I am truly sorry. With being on the Chapter Board, it sometimes keeps me busy and I don't get to talk to everyone I want.

See now I like it on the white tail.....maybe the cammo is a little more of an American taste?

I got there a little late. Had a little time to walk around the booths. I had talked to someone? Not sure if it was you or not last year. This year again. Not sure if it was you or not again? Lol..
But hey there is always next year! It was a good event again this year. Heck Kieth Warren sat at our table. Talked with him for about an hour. Good conversation.

You either talked to me or my helper. Sorry if it wasnt me.
Yes I was going to sit at that table with Keith but was to busy. Keith is a great guy, have know him for about 10 years now. I just mounted a deer for him and will be shipping it to Texas to him. I also guided him for whitetails 3 times and made 3 t.v. shows with him.
Anyways, next year at the banquet, make sure you look ME up & introduce yourself. And thanks for attending & supporting our SCI Banquet and SCI !!

I like most skulls white due to the fact they have a natural look when displayed in our log cabin.

I did have an artist paint a bear skull for me. It features a bears head surrounded by foliage.
I consider it a piece of artwork rather than a trophy display. I would post a pic but it is up
at the cabin and I will not be up there for a couple weeks.

Maybe a good image (see link) of a warthog on a white warthog skull may look neat.

Just an idea.

Can you do carbon fiber look?

Heath, I will be sure to do so next year. Or some other time if our paths cross.
