Enjoy the planning as it is delicious! Figure out the animals that most intrigue you and where they live, set up your budget and start contacting booking agents or outfitters directly. Agents can be very helpful for the first timer and can help abbreviate the process somewhat and they get their pay from the other end. I have used an agent on all my hunts and feel it is helpful especially for the travel aspects. Jack Atcheson in Butte, Montana is one of the best in the business and has hunts all over Africa for just about every budget. Good luck and have fun!
