a while ago when on a trip in the kruger nasional park,we came upon this young bull elephant with his left rear leg stuck in the mud.
a lot of noise and tugging took place, to no avail.....
then another young elephant came and helped the stricken elephant
it even looked as if it is wispering encouragement into its ear...
it then took the troubled leg with its trunk and together they managed to free it from the mud..
at last free and away from the dangerous mud, they can be seen 'thanking' and and confirming their friendship before walking off together into the bush..
almost human like behaviour from wild animals...
it brought a tear in my wife's eyes
[because, as you all know, men dont cry in public...!]
